Great for display only

Overall, I purchased this set as a fan of G1 transformers characters, especially Optimus Prime. The build experience was great and the finished product looks great on display. However, if someone buys the set for a child to play with, the child will probably be discouraged and disappointed when playing with it and it keeps coming apart. The legs are extremely heavy that. They come apart from the body if you hold it by its torso. You have to transform it slowly and carefully from robot to truck and back in order to keep it together too. I cannot recommend this set for play value. If you’re a fan of the character and looking for a good set for the build, I highly recommend this set. It also looks great on the shelf.

Childhood dream come true

Growing up, my two favorite things were Lego and transformers. For years I dreamed of having the two combined and now that dream has come true. The build was absolutely wonderful and the the finished set was perfect in every way. The only spot I find troublesome is the middle of the torso comes apart very easily but otherwise it's strong. I definitely recommend every transformers fan and any builder pick this up.

As a huge Transformers fan this was an amazing set to put together. It's sturdy, transforms and pays great tribute to the original G1 Optimus Prime. Please make more like this!

I love everything about this set. I had a great time building it, it's so fun to transform, and I love it's presence on my shelf. I only wish the cab had space for a minifigure or two to sit inside.

I'm a huge fan of both Transformers and LEGO and therefor extremely happy they joined forces. I'm so eager for other characters that will be given the LEGO treatment, might I recommend Optimus Prime's Trailer.
