I was letting it stand and they the WHOLE thing fell apart. It split in half and broke I will never be using lego again fix this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Genius idea, poor execution

First set I didn't complete building because it kept falling apart. The lower torso and upper body were not well attached and could have done better with more reinforcement from the technics capabilities.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a great looking model. I would have like a build for my son and I to play. He is helping and learning on these bigger builds. Arms, legs fall off… torso splits in half top and bottom. Overall dissatisfaction and disappointment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not for play - Poor build quality

The torso of the body where the legs connect to lacks any rigidity. It is next to impossible to transition the model into the two configurations offered.
Just picking it up it falls apart (80% of the time).
This is by far our most disappointing build.
The red bricks supplied IMHO are out of specification. Nothing snaps together. Bricks just lay together (no snap) . Even with the interlocking of the bricks the build still falls apart. To much slop in the fit and finish.
If I could return it I certainly would. I am just outside a reasonable return window given this was purchased before all of our family summer vacations prior to the school year.
I hope this review helps in your decision. Statically displayed the model is esthetically poor. I think fans of the Transformers Franchise would be woefully disappointed.

Missing and wrong bricks twice

I have experience missing and wrong bricks twice, even though there are 2 more bags. The 1st missing part was received through the portal request, however the 2nd wrong bricks was declined even not my fault. I am so disappointed not to complete my Optimus Prime's fingers. It has a wrong shape of fingers in the bag 9. It is weird why Logo makes many mistakes nowadays.

Poor QA---missing parts and Poor play ability

Bought the Optimus Prime set for our son who is an advanced builder. He quickly experienced many missing parts over 8 pieces needed to be sent. Once built, the Optimus Prime was not play worthy or show worthy unless you super glued things down. Avoid

A big step in an amazing direction

I love Lego and Transformers so much so when I heard the rumors of Optimus Prime I was super excited. I am very fortunate to have this new set and it was a great experience! The legs were very boring to build but besides that I had a blast. I hope in the future we can expect a Megatron.

Awesome set

My Optimus Prime was delivered a few days earlier which is awesome since Lego said to expect delays. The set has some awesome detail, I love gen 1. It could be a little cheaper, but I highly recommend this set!
