FIRST OFF WAYYYYY TO FREAKING FRAGILE SECOND ITS A AMAZING IDEA TO MAKE LEGO TRANCEFORMERS BUT THIS ONE IS TOO HARD TO TRANCEFORM IF YOU READ THIS LEGO PLEASE REMAKE THIS SET LATER BUT MAKE IT STRONGER AND EASIER TO TANCEFORM

Terrible Experience

I was so excited for this set. I am sad to say that it is the worse set I've built. It is so fragile. You can't pick this set up without it falling apart. Lego should have spent more time in R&D before releasing this. Such a disappointment.

Missing two pieces

Bought this when it came out to build on birthday a few weeks later. Started building it poured out each bag for each step got to the end of bag 1 and noticed it’s missing two piece 4558954 to complete step 24. First time this has ever happen with any set I bought from the store.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Might as well be a 2-in-1 set

I like the build by itself, but the only way to transform it is by taking off multiple parts, on top of the multiple parts that will fall off on their own. It may as well have been dubbed a 2-in-1 set similar to the 3-in-1-sets with individual builds. It's that much of a chore to go from Optimus to truck. Really frustrated with it. Good luck

Underwhelming

At first glance, this build is amazing. It looks like a transformer. I had fun building every individual part of Optimus. However, once it came down to putting all the pieces together, the illusion fell apart. It seems every time I would touch it, whole sections would fall off. It’s very delicate. I’m not sure if I got a defective product but the pieces don’t snap and lock in place like I’m used to. The quality of the pieces that matter most for this build feel like it’s from a dollar store knock off of LEGO bricks in my honest opinion. This is the first time I have felt like I didn’t get my money’s worth from a LEGO product. Very disappointed.

If your set seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together. The quality of our toys is extremely important to us. Worst build ever - ENJOY the frustration

After many many years of building sets, I can finally say I have one that I will NOT finish, and throw in a corner to collect dust. Each piece, weighing more than it should, barely holds on to the small body. Every time one appendage in connected, three random Lego fall off. I was on bag ten, connecting the jet pack, and the entire thing just completely fell into a bunch of pieces. The WORST set.

About that plastic

Some of the plastic feel cheap. Holes are not aligned. And the box feel thin compared to other Lego box.

Poor Quality

Really disappointed with this set.
There are multiple errors in the manual, first time I have ever seen this from LEGO.
Optimus’ head looks awful and I can’t believe this was the final result. His shoulders are off. His knees don’t bend. His proportions are off.
I would have gladly taken the removal of the axe, energizing cube, and jet pack if it meant the above issues could have been addressed.
And please do a better job of proofreading your manuals.
