It was great fun building this Ferrari. All parts were in there with no issues. Similar to a previous post I also had the same issue with the engine hood staying open while building. This completes my set of high performance cars!
Pro: The display result is outstanding. It amazes me how the designer achieve body curve with Lego pieces. The best part is no stickers!!!
Con: The instruction has errors and Lego has known about them for awhile now and yet, it is still not fixed. This is unacceptable to me per Lego / Ferrari standard. It's hilarious they call it "The Sense of Perfection". Come on Lego!
Overall it is a step forward for display model due to body curves. It is also a step backward for functions. What happened to door opening and tail funcation???
I have learned to appreciate these sets since the orange Porsche 911 GT3. I like the technicalities and the working mechanical components that came with the set. I experienced a couple of things, with regards to packaging, and pieces, to be more specific, during the build that I did not observe with the other previous three (i.e., Porsche, Bugatti, and Lamborghini). The issues had to do with the instructions and the location of the pieces where I had to go against what was indicated since, I believe, it was instructing incorrectly. Additionally, I had to go to other out of number bags (i.e., Bag 4 pieces found in Bag 3) to find pieces as indicated in the instruction.
First, the Pros: - As with the other similar sized kits, in the same category as this one, the build is quite extensive and, if you're a Lego hobbyist, it is one that is severely enjoyable. - There is a great similarity, to the actual life-size vehicle. - As an auto enthusiast, I love the size of the wheels and tires. - Real, working doors (again, just like in the real vehicle) is a plus, but.... (more on this in the Cons section below). - Functioning engine and gearbox. - I realize and understand, the red paint is standard for Ferrari vehicles but it looks great on this set. - This particular set likely has the best shock absorbing part and assembly out of all the other similar kits before it.
Now, and unfortunately, the Cons: - While they include a hood strut for the front baggage trunk, the engine cover/hood (not sure what it's called since the engine is in the rear) would have worked better having one as well. The front hood or baggage trunk don't necessarily need one but, and more importantly, the rear hood is more deserving of one because it tends to close on its own every now and then when opened and when the lift support mechanisms are not engaged fully or correctly. - The doors, as the other similar kits before it, could have been built better. The mechanism works well but it is just a bit flimsy and feels as though the entire assembly may just fall off when opening and closing the doors. Additionally, the top portion of both doors, where the glass windows would have been if it was in real life, have a huge hole in it. The hole could have really used some covering but it is just left opened with the internal parts easily seen through it. - While I do love the wheels and tires, (and this is a same complaint I have with the other similar kits), the turning radius is atrocious. Granted this is not a set one would really play with but it is really horrible at turning. I get that the tires have to be of a certain width, but they really should take that into consideration to make sure there is ample space for them to turn. Also, there is no engine in the front so there should be enough space for the wheels to turn in or out. - Lastly, where's the bag? All the other similar kits before it came with a bag and all of a sudden, this one has none?
Overall, and while I do have a few "did-not-likes" with the set, it is still a good addition and displays well with the others. Would I recommend it? I can, only to those that really are keen on collecting each and every one of these that they release. If you're in the market for one of these, I would suggest the Porsche or the Bugatti, even the Lamborghini before it as well.
I love the 1/8th scale cars, however the cost is too much and for this particular car- the delivery does not fit the price increase. No 4 wheel drive, door feature hard/awkward to use, no spoiler feature (or equivalent). Less features more money doesn't make sense.
I’ve been building adult sets for years - this is not Lego’s best moment - I found at least 6 errors in the articles of instruction- along with 3 very misguided or inaccurate connections of assembled bodies - and then in stage 7 - the dreaded missing piece - I believe the creator of this set is not worthy of Lego - I did not enjoy this build at all - it was frustrating and ultimately disappointing

I have been building a long time and never written a review, but this model won my heart and mind. I really only enjoy building the large pieces that Lego offers as I don't play with them. I simply enjoy the destressing effect of quiet build time, my job offers plenty of stress.
I enjoyed every aspect of this build. There were building techniques used on this model that I have not seen and I am left in awe as to how a creator even came up with some of these techniques. The angles created and the end product flow of the model is exceptional. As it should be, this is an Italian piece of art.
I have built the other large scale vehicles (Porsche, Bugati and Lamborghini) and this one stands above those in both build and final product appearance in my humble opinion...although the Porsche is a very close 2nd.
Thank you LEGO for continuing to push the envelope on creativity and challenging builds for us that enjoy the down time and beautiful display pieces upon completion.
For the cost, it could have used some sound button for engine noise. Build was OK but was missing several parts which was truly disappointing for the price. Did not want to wait for replacement parts so dug thru brick stash to complete. Found the Lambo to be a better buy and build.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have done every large scale Technic super car, the Titanic, Harry Potter castle and many more. This is EASILY the most frustrating build I’ve done. The instructions are terrible and you’re just left looking at YouTube to figure it out. You would think something this expensive would have the correct instructions. I was set to get the Eiffel Tower for my daughter and I to build but this set has turned me off to LEGO almost entirely.
