*** BEWARE of this misprint!

In book 1 on Page 94 (Step 104), in the box at the top, they put the green “check” mark next to the Wrong Piece! The correct piece is the bigger dark gray piece where they mistakenly put the red X telling you not to use it. Use it. You will see it’s the bigger dark gray piece that fits.

Another Great 1:8 Scale Set
on June 22, 2022

Let me just start by saying that photos do not do this model any justice. It's much more impressive when you have the real thing in front of you. This is by far the toughest LEGO set that I have ever built make no mistake. I do believe that the quality control in parts has greatly improved over the Sian as I had no missing parts or obvious color inconsistencies which was a real hassle previously. I did notice, like many others, some incorrect steps which may throw off other people. I do like most of the car itself, although I was a little disappointed with the engine bay cover being a bit flimsy and the engine itself having less detail than the Sian. I was also not a fan of the door levers being hidden in the engine bay unlike the Sian which had them easily accessible near the roof of the car. But I do honestly think this is the best looking 1:8 Scale Supercar LEGO has put out to date. Looking forward to the next evolution!

Need more Lego Technic SuperCars!

I've now built the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Bugatti Chiron and Lamborghini Sián FKP 37. All have been great and challenging builds.
This build had a couple minor issues though. I had to look at the pictures a step ahead and a step back to confirm the proper part was referenced. That said, things were usually pretty easy to deduce. If you've built Technic Expert sets in the past, you understand how things tend to go together.
Next-up, how about a McLaren 765 LT Spider or 720S, Lego?

Strengths and Weaknesses

This is my third large Technic set, next to the Bugatti and Lamborghini so I feel like I have a pretty good handle on these type of builds. After reading reviews online, I went in store to purchase. The store manager did let me know about issues with instructions and to use the online guide instead. This set presented very well right out of the box and was true to family of Technic vehicles. Aside from the QA issues with directions, I couldn’t find much wrong with this set. This has to be the best looking set from the front than any of the other ones I’ve done. However, the door mechanisms and appearance felt rushed and clunky. I do not like the red piece in the top corner that sort of just flops around when open, I wish the roof had the option to secure it more firmly and the engine bay was underwhelming compared to the Lamborghini. I wanted to love this set and most of me does, but some elements just missed the mark in my opinion. I know the next design in 2 years will be amazing though.

Absolutely stunning!

This set is simply amazing! It looks so much better in person than I expected it to when I decided to pick it up, it just demands your attention when you walk past. I love that this set comes with absolutely no stickers and I hope very much that will carry over to some other lego themes because I can't stand them. Especially in sets made to be displayed. My one complaint about the set is there are a few errors in the printed manual. Fortunately these can be fixed pretty easily once you know where they are, and I even think they've made some fixes in the .pdf instructions. 9.5/10 and I think this is a must own for Lego Ferrari fans.

A Wonderful Experience to Build
on June 26, 2022

I’m 75 and have always enjoyed a challenge especially a technical challenge. The Ferrari Daytons sp3 tested my concentration, fine motor skills and eyesight to the full.
The 8 speed sequential gearbox is amazing itt only a shame that once the build is complete that you can’t use it. I would recommend on completing box 1 that you connect the gearbox through the cog at the rear of the gearbox to a motor and driver and watch the gears change using the flappy paddles. I didn’t have a motor or driver so I connected the rear cog to my power drill set at the slowest speed.
The gull wing doors are ingenious although the engine cover does not always stay up when you operate these.
The QR codes that link the build to YouTube videos are a great asset.
My only concern are the errors in the manual which, if you are not aware of them, will cause problems. The most problematic of these is at stage 88 where the orange selectors are shown incorrectly and will not allow the gears to work correctly. I would thoroughly recommend watching the Racing Bricks YouTube video of the build where this, and in fact the whole build, are explained in detail.
I found it a thoroughly satisfying experience to build this kit and despite pacing myself I was almost sorry when it was completed.
I’ve just bought a lighting kit to bring it to life and am looking forward to installing it.

Hardest Technic set to date
on June 13, 2022

Overall this build is fantastic, It's so tricky but enjoyable at the same time. The experience I had while building this Ferrari Daytona SP3 will never be matched. The detail and precision put into this set are perplexing. My only complaint about the set is the front hood; it just flops around. I wish it could hold itself up as the trunk lid does.
