A Wonderful Experience to Build

I’m 75 and have always enjoyed a challenge especially a technical challenge. The Ferrari Daytons sp3 tested my concentration, fine motor skills and eyesight to the full. The 8 speed sequential gearbox is amazing itt only a shame that once the build is complete that you can’t use it. I would recommend on completing box 1 that you connect the gearbox through the cog at the rear of the gearbox to a motor and driver and watch the gears change using the flappy paddles. I didn’t have a motor or driver so I connected the rear cog to my power drill set at the slowest speed. The gull wing doors are ingenious although the engine cover does not always stay up when you operate these. The QR codes that link the build to YouTube videos are a great asset. My only concern are the errors in the manual which, if you are not aware of them, will cause problems. The most problematic of these is at stage 88 where the orange selectors are shown incorrectly and will not allow the gears to work correctly. I would thoroughly recommend watching the Racing Bricks YouTube video of the build where this, and in fact the whole build, are explained in detail. I found it a thoroughly satisfying experience to build this kit and despite pacing myself I was almost sorry when it was completed. I’ve just bought a lighting kit to bring it to life and am looking forward to installing it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's great to hear you had a wonderful time building your new Ferrari Daytona SP3! We appreciate the feedback concerning the building instruction errors and the comments will be shared with our design teams!
Awesome build. Really enjoyed putting this car together. Technic is getting better at designing builds and showing the builder what it takes to make a high end vehicle work.
Let me just start by saying that photos do not do this model any justice. It's much more impressive when you have the real thing in front of you. This is by far the toughest LEGO set that I have ever built make no mistake. I do believe that the quality control in parts has greatly improved over the Sian as I had no missing parts or obvious color inconsistencies which was a real hassle previously. I did notice, like many others, some incorrect steps which may throw off other people. I do like most of the car itself, although I was a little disappointed with the engine bay cover being a bit flimsy and the engine itself having less detail than the Sian. I was also not a fan of the door levers being hidden in the engine bay unlike the Sian which had them easily accessible near the roof of the car. But I do honestly think this is the best looking 1:8 Scale Supercar LEGO has put out to date. Looking forward to the next evolution!
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 has been a fun build for me. I have enjoyed the build so far. I am just about done building it. This build does have more blind spots in the instructions than the other 1/8 scale cars I have built. It will keep you on your toes.
As an avid Lego builder, I personally own all four of Lego's large-scale Technic cars. Of the four, this is by far the best-looking of them all. The building techniques and the styling of the car are absolutely incredible. It was a fun build and I would gladly do it again. I would recommend this to anybody looking for an enjoyable build and a great display piece.
There were a few minor errors in the instructions but nothing that couldn't be fixed easily.
