Upon turning on the screen and opening up YouTube, i was very surprised with how bland the colors looked. i've been using a fairly expensive monitor with my desktop PC so the difference was very jarring. i ignored it though because i was mainly going to be using this for homework and other school stuff where colors shouldn't matter much. it's been about a month since i've had this laptop and now the left side of the speakers are going out. they either make a scratching noise or nothing at all then work for a bit then back to not working. I got this because it looked like a good deal for a laptop with the new AMD cpus but now i wish i just got a spectre. those're known to be high quality and most likely will last much longer.

The envy is a very nice laptop. Crystal clear display, very fast and as thin as my hp elitebook. All around Winner with exception of the speakers. I'd hoped that laptop speaker tech would have developed more!

I've had this laptop a month. It's my first laptop, and I'd resisted laptops as I really liked having a desktop. Now I wonder why I waited so long. It's super fast, the keyboard is plenty big, and the screen colors and resolution are sharp. I love that it boots up in about 2 seconds when I turn on the power and also that the fingerprint login is instant. The mouse pad is very large and responsive. I thought I'd plug in my external mouse, but haven't done so as the mouse pad is so easy to use. I also like that the camera cover, although internal to the screen, is visibly different (a sort of cross hatch design in the camera opening) than when it is uncovered, and that it's so easy to cover and uncover with the button in the top row of the keyboard. The USB ports are enough for what I've been doing - sometimes an external DVD reader or a back up drive. The battery lasts well. I would definitely buy this same model again and recommend it to anyone.
