As expected, this is a very nice laptop. Excellent screen and video camera. Quick boot-up, both cold and warm.
But the forced requirement to have a Microsoft account in order to run Windows is ridiculous, and possibly illegal. There are known work-arounds for this, but HP should have an option to run without an MS account.

Enjoying the new laptop

To date, I have been very pleased with the laptop. I realize that the two things I am about to mention in the review are both cosmetic but might be meaningful to some. The keys are not smooth. They each have the outline of whatever letter or number raised (think Braille). The second is the plastic the surrounds the keyboard. It is black but also is covered with lots of white specs. I keep wanting to wipe it off as it looks like it is covered with dust. Again, I realize this may be completely irrelevant to some.
I would recommend this to a friend!

holyu crap is there a LOT of bloatware on your systems an the preinstalled antivirus is a virus itself that is difficult to remove. WHY DO THAT??? ABSOLUTELY THE WORST personal laptop system i've ever bought, which is really sad because I've had so much faith in HP IN YEARS PAST! So I'm wondering Why did this happen? I've known HP to be a marquee name brand that businesses and people talk about as easily the best, but I'm disapointed and i probably won't buy your brand again. I would suggest leaving out all the sales crap off your systems. I wasted an hour getting rid of it all. I was so frustrated that I seriously considered a complete erase ands format and make clean install. I haven't done so yet, but I still might.

Negatives:
No internal sd card reader
Power button is hard to find and awkward + easy to bump
No split mouse buttons so it's just one pad and frustratingly hard to right click
No airplane or wifi button
More difficult to print photos from right click because there's an added step to access the correct menu from a new menu
Only one ctrl button because they replaced the right, best accessed one, with ai I never wanted nor asked for
Volume and speakers aren't loud enough
Positive:
Larger screen is lovely especially for Bible study nights for online church
The specs and info for the laptops now are terrible because I wasn't aware of MANY of these issues from the limited photos and information given on the site BEFORE ordering.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using this laptop for about two weeks and so far it's performing well. I especially like the large screen. However the battery seems to not last very long, even with Battery Saver enabled.
