Pizza Party

We recently fired up the oven for a 6 person pizza party... we had various topping choices ready and let everyone design their own pizza. I had the oven hot and I cooked everyone's pizza as they brought them to me. the cooking went quickly and we all had a great sit down supper with our own perfect pizza. It was great. Thank you.

Love the Sizzler Pan

Really expanded the usefulness of my Koda pizza oven. So far, successful w/ steak, shrimp, & veggies....Two (2) Sizzlers fit nicely side-by-side in the Koda. The well-designed wooden trivet & removable cast-iron handle work well as a set Exceeded expectations for the amount of food I could fit on a Sizzler. VERY glad I bought TWO !!

I got my first pair with the purchase of my Ooni Pro. I bought a 2nd pair as fireplace gloves for a friend. I have subsequently purchased two more to have on hand as replacements. We use cast iron for cooking meat, fish and vegetable in the oven and the gloves are a requirement. A note of warning, don't hold on to the hot cast iron too long...our first pair is stiffening from the excessive heat that makes cooking with the oven so amazing (hence the additional pairs of gloves!).

Not only does this produce the best-seared steak I've ever had, but the ability to take it from OONI to table (with the detached handle and wooden base) is awesome. Can't wait to use it for fajitas or other table-sizzling dishes. :)

I seasoned the skillet four times as directed. The next day I cooked Bell peppers and onions together. Then I cooked two ribeye steaks. I cut four different bell peppers up and cut two average sized sweet onions up in average to big pieces. I added some Lawry's Total Seasoning and sprinkled with olive oil. Placed them in a large bowl and stirred completely. I cooked them at about skillet temperature of 450 degrees and the inside skillet temperature read between 600-700 degrees. I cooked them about two minutes or until I noticed them getting a little black on some edges. Took them out to stir and placed them back in for about another two minutes or less. The blackened edges added a whole new dimension to the flavor of this. Both, the peppers and onions were very tender and flavorful. For the steaks....I cut them into strips of about an inch wide. I rubbed a little Montreal Steak Seasoning on them (not too much or they'll be too salty, just lightly) then I rubbed them in butter. Cooked at same heat for maybe a minute and a half or so. Took them out to turn over and placed back in the oven for another minute and a half or so. The steaks were just a little pink inside (medium rare) just perfect for us. I had to cook five batches of the vegetables and two batches of the steak. This was one of the best meals ever cooked outside here...saying that because I have four different ways of cooking outside....gas grill, a large smoker, a large gas fired wok type cooker and now this gas powered pizza oven. Love cooking outside. Just a tip for the veggies....I have two other large, cast iron skillets but two deep to use for cooking in this oven. I did sprinkle it with olive oil and put it in the oven to get hot and set it on a piece of scrap wood. After each batch of veggies were done cooking, I stored them in the hot, large skillet and continued. The veggies stayed warm while I cooked the steaks. When the steaks were finished I placed the large skillet with veggies back in the oven for a minute or so to reheat a little. Everything was just great. Love this skillet and thinking about getting a second one to help save some time.

Gloves are too thin. You cannot hold the metal pizza door for to long without burning yourself. Should be better insulated.
