This thermometer seems to be quite accurate I don't have anything else to compare to so I'm just going to assume that the temperature it is reading is correct.
It turns on quickly toggles back-and-forth between Celsius and Fahrenheit quickly and I have not had any issues with it.
I would recommend this.

works perfectly. instant improvement in confidence knowing when everything is up to temp with gas and dealing with fluctuations from wood.
plus my kids love measuring the surface temperature of everything.
