Was a little surprised at the Light plastic-ness of the item. Feels like a toy vs. Others we looked at before going with Ooni's version.

Useless. Temperature jumps around by + or - 100 C so impossible to get a true reading. If used through sight hole in Ooni oven, a slight touch results in melted plastic on the thermometer. Used through open door results in heat escaping from oven and same variable reading problem. if I had time, I would return it. Would be interested to hear a response from Ooni?

Avoid trial and error

The perfect pizza needs the stone to be hot so it cooks all over rather than just the sides. This thermometer is really useful for knowing when you have got to that point and avoid the trial and error.
