Excellent Dishwasher

We've always used other appliances that start with the letter 'G' and we are impressed on how much better Frigidaire is. Thanks for making such a quality product.

Excellent Washing and Drying but Overall Poor Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My very quiet, 12 year old Bosch failed just about three months before a planned kitchen renovation. I purchased this Frigidaire to use temporarily until I can proceed with the renovation. I really didn't expect much other than mediocre performance. In some ways it surpasses what I expected and in others it fails terribly.
It's excellent at washing and drying. At times it's surprisingly quiet for a low cost, plastic tub dishwasher especially when it's fully loaded. The water noise is nearly completely muffled and I can only hear the hum of the motor although it can be heard a room away. Too bad sound varies too often. Sometimes the motor sounds like a car horn blowing in the distance. And, when the wash action changes to the top rack, it sometimes sounds like water is blasting from every corner of the dishwasher for the length of the entire wash. It can be heard throughout the house. It seems to be remedied by added 1 to 2 quarts of water.
The front wheels of the bottom rack fall into the gap between the open door and the tub (see photos). This is a design flaw that was present in a Frigidaire dishwasher I owned at least 10 years ago and reviews of all Frigidaire plastic tub models cite this issue yet Frigidaire acts like they're unfamiliar with it.
Water vapor escapes the top left of the door/tub while drying and leaves the control panel wet.
The control panel has sharp edges at each end and I cut my finger and snagged my pants on them.
Although this is considered a tall tub dishwasher it has considerably less height than most. The top rack adjusts only 3/4 inch up and down and it's hard to fit, say, an 8 inch diameter, 3 quart saucepan up there.
The top rack has large gaps that allow items to protrude (see photo).
The toe kick screws were cross threaded.
I'm sure I might have failed to include some other shortcomings but I think I got my point across. It will do for me now, and I may need to call for service, but it's not a dishwasher I would recommend to anyone expecting to get more than a year's use of it.
