After owning the Artisan series (700 & 800), this is a huge disappointment. The CD loading tray system is a throwback to the 1990s. The Artisan CD direct feed, no tray, was light years ahead. The ink consumption is insane. This thing is a Guzzler! The amount of time it spends getting ready to print is absurd. It's like we went back to the 1980s: it makes a lot of noise, grinding, whining, and then minutes later is decides not to print because it wants more ink... This is the worst printer Epson ever made.

This full feature printer has everything you need for home office. Black and white printing is near laser quality...color photos quality is excellent.
The only quirk is the rear paper loader, it's hit and miss. Sometimes it pulls the paper in and shoots it out the front and tells you to reload. Loading the paper 2" in as the instructions state does not work on my unit it's more like 3/4".
Other than that quirk...I'm very satisfied with the quality and performance.

My XP-800

Had this printer for a week and must say I'm very pleased. Don't be fooled by its size, the small footprint is what attracted me, and now that I've used all its features, it is truly all in one. The wireless operation picked up on my network WAY faster tanning the hp it replaced. Print quality and speed are A-ok!

Best Ever By Far!!!!

Before I make any major purchases I go to the Consumers Reports first to check out the ratings and the rest is downhill from there. I've only had mines for less than a week and I am loving it. The setup was a piece of cake, but what really impressed me was being able to print from me Android smart phone. I am very pleased with the quality of print, the speed, and size. A little heavier than I expected but very minor compared to all the pros. I am a fanatic for convenience, especially being able to print from my smartphone. I can hardly wait to put it to use!

I like the printer features (print, scan, fax & copy). I like scanning to the computer directly from the printer inputs. Photo copy is very good. The wireless feature was a big plus and easy to setup. I like the way the envelopes are fed from the back to print. Fax and copy with the ADF worked great. It has a smaller footprint than my previous printer which was a plus also. The touch screen feature is nice and very easy to use.

Questionable

The printer worked fine for 3 months. Then I replaced the ink cartridges with genuine Epson ones. Printer failed with "unrecognizable cartidge" message. They sent me new cartridges twice and then a refurbished printer. The new cartridges were almost empty. The refurbished printer failed the nozzle check immediately and then failed to recognize the black cartridge. They sent me a second refurbished printer. This printer showed all cartridges full, but after printing only one page, it shows the black cartridge is almost empty. Other than that it is so far working, but this whole process wasted 3 weeks. They appear to have serious cartridge problems.

Great except for printer cartridges

This is a really great printer/copier. The only problem we have is that there is NO warning when you are running out of ink. You go to print and then it says you are out of ink and you have to replace in order to continue. Previous printer/copiers we have owned at least warn you that you are running low or you can print just in black and white if you need a color cartridge, not this one!! So, if you plan on having this printer, go ahead and buy a lot of ink cartridges in every color so when you do run out, you can continue to print/copy.

When I change the ink cartridge It is never ready to print I spend about a half hour going through help info ,cleaning nozzles etc. this has happened both times I've changed the ink since I bought it. It's very frustrating I waist ink trying to correct the problem and stops me from my projects. Aside from changing the ink it prints very nice, but if this can't be resolved I will be purchasing a new printer.
