Great quality Photo Printer, as usual, but the software controls are a bit unfriendly. Using the Rear Feed Slot is challenging to say the least. It only holds one sheet at a time and when printing from your computer, you must select "Rear Feed Slot" and then hit the Print button, and then wait for the printer to be ready, and then, only then, ADD the one sheet of paper and hit the illusive "Diamond" print button (which until this point has been completely invisible!!) on the printer! Otherwise all sorts of additionally frustrating things happen. The other thing I have noticed is that scanning documents to the Computer using "Scan to PC - PDF" scans at high resolution and creates VERY large, but nice quality, PDF files. However downloading and installing "EpsonScan" allows you to control scanning from the computer and therefore change the resolution to a reasonable value (I like 150 for basic document PDF files). Only other issue I have after 12 hours of ownership, is that the motorized Front Tray and Control Panel do not self-retract when you turn off the power. They open on their own just fine, but do not close/retract on their own and "Pushing" them closed feels a bit damaging. All these issues could be resolved by software changes. Spending 18 minutes on the phone waiting for customer service, and then another 15 minutes "wrestling" with the rep. while experimenting on the printer, I discovered the "Rear Slot" solution myself. FYI: DO NOT place the sheet of paper in the rear slot until the "Printer Screen" says something convoluted about the "Rear Feed-Slot Support Stick" and then press the "Diamond" shaped button. Other than these issues I like the unit! EPSON engineers need to do better real world testing and re-design their software interface to be more user friendly. I mean really, why would any printer spit out the paper you added because you added it too soon, and why are half the "Virtual Buttons" invisible at any given time?????

This printer tests my patience every day. If it is not replaceing the ink cartridge (when there is still ink in the cartridge) it is the scanner that will not connect. Stops printing in the middle of the page for no reason and the rollers are starting to squeal everytime I print. Would not recommend this printer. My first Epson printer (Workforce) worked well - not this one.

Purchased this printer since consumer reports rated it so highly. I do not use the printer on a daily basis - mostly for small print jobs from the internet and some personal letters. I have had to replace the ink cartridges 4 times since August. The color printing is horrible. One time it prints clearly and adequate color and then the next page is a mess with washed out lines of color. For the money I spent, I was expecting a good product. I am very disappointed and now have to search for a new printer.

Have not used all of the printers functions, but have had no problems with the functions I used. The scan to function is great, I have scanned a lot of OLD family photo's, making it possible to put them into a digital photo for my Mom that has memory issues. She loves the fact that I can bring back memories she has lost. That has pretty well made the printer pay for itself. The only draw back is when the ink is low it will not function. An earlier warning of low ink would make it possible to keep extra on hand.

I have had this printer now for about a year. Printing is off. I always have to realign everything, prints only the upper portion of the line. I have tried to set everything back to factory, but there is no info as to how to do that. It also uses a large amount of ink. I am always having to buy new ink. I bought Epson as that is my printer of choice but this one has been a lemon XP-800. Not a happy camper for sure

I bought this printer in September, and brought it home. I installed the software, registered (thankfully), and plugged in this printer only to find… it doesn't work. Everything you print has lines running through it. Thinking that it was a fluke, I continued printing. It was not. I bought and changed the ink cartridges, and still, everything you print is unreadable. Almost every other review I read on this product said the same thing. Never buying Epson again.
