This was the easiest installation of a technical product that I have experienced. The instructions were simple and complete. Thank you Epson! The only thing I would suggest improving would be adding the USB cable to the package.

Set-Up Ease

I followed the instructions in the set-up guide exactly. I was most impressed with the WI-FI set-up as the program obtained the security settings and I didn't have to enter. I used the USB connection as recommended when prompted. Painless and straight-forward. I then immediately tried printing an email from my iPad 3 and connection worked. However, the font of the text was so small I couldn't read on printed output. Uncertain if this is an iPad setting or printer? In total, it took about 2 hrs to unpack and get everything operating w/wireless. I was some what confused with paper loading instructions for Tray 2 as I first tried to load from front and inserting, but bottom page got caught/wrinkled and then I realized it is best to remove tray completely and load from back first.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just What I Was Looking For

Love my iDevices, but unable to print. Started to research on WIFI printers. To be honest, most of my home printers were from other manufacturers. Doing the research, I kept going back to the Epson. I purchased the Epson Expression WP-800 and I am glad I did. Set it up on my counter top, put in the cartridges, plugged it in, and printed a photo from my phone. Border to border 4x6 photo. I couldn't get better from the photo shop. Still haven't hooked to my PC desktop, no need. Best printer I ever had.

Okay, it's just day one, but it did a great job today.
Bought this printer to go with my macbook on wi-fi - we have a Dell printer we bought with our Dell PC in 2006, but it's one of the few printers unable to be set up with a macbook!
I carried it home from Best Buy - it's heavier than I thought it'd be (live in NYC, easier to carry 7 blocks than to drive to get it!), given its compact size, but I made it.
Notably - set-up was simple! Just followed the directions on the set up wizard & the CD that I inserted into my mac. This was the part that had me most concerned ahead of time, & it was a breeze - needed no cables since I set it up directly with the wi-fi network.
Printed the test page & a 3 page report (4 copies) beautifully. It prints double-sided, where on my Dell I have to print page 1, take the paper, turn it over, & then reinsert it to print page 2 on the back, so that's a huge plus & a huge timesaver (since i like to print all of my reports double-sided).
We have yet to learn how long the cartridges will last.

Tray redesign pls?

Great printer, excellent set up.
but having to manually close tray every time has become annoying. You actually have to 'nudge-jam' it in?
and If you choose NOT to close tray+leave open?
You will eventually bang into it b/c it sticks out a mile long!(kids/pets beware)

If you want a 'sleek' tidy look...the tray issue will negate it.

XP-800 printer

Out of the box. It will not print black text off PDF
documents. Prints the color portions but not black
text. I did 3 head cleaning and 3 head alignment.
This seems to be recurring issues according to many reviews on various sites. I will return product.
