Having bought this Epson before, I do know personally' they make great printers. I am now ready to buy this XP-800 over the XP-600, mainly because of the sale price it offered, with a few dollars more, this is it! Weighing the Pros an Cons, the excellent features an speed has far outweigh the minor issues. All printers are not perfect, the only issue I have is hoping someday Epson can find a way to give consumers lower Ink costs for this model.

Taking it back to the store

I purchased this XP-800 printer on Feb. 14, 2013 and it has done very well with letters. However, when I need it to print checks (either standard or wallet), Avery labels, or envelopes this printer is nothing but trouble. It does not matter which paper feed tray or slot I use, this device is basically useless. I now write checks and envelopes with a pen, and can only do labels one page at a time through the rear feed.
I have had good success with Epson printers in the past but this one has taken me over the edge. I will consult Consumer Reports and then buy something that has a good rating.
Thanks.

I have received my 2nd XP-800 All in One and it is worse than the first one. It didn't want to load and now it print just like the first one. Would like to get another Epson, but don't know what to try.

Poor Quality for Epson

I had the Epson Artisan 835 and LOVED it. Unfortunately it was damaged and we had to replace it. This new version is just poor quality versus what we already had. The scan cover feels loose and cheap. The AF kept eating my paper! I had to manually scan each sheet separately for a fax. It's not what I am use to for an epson product. The only nice thing is the size is smaller which is perfect for our smaller office space. I have not done any prints yet and I am praying they are just as good as the 835!

but not this one. Its very unreliable, needs frequent maintenence which eats tons of black ink. Then it eats more ink just to print a few great pictures (if you are lucky). Useless for printing text because black cartridge plugs easily so you waste more ink cleaning nozzles and printer head. It still doesnt work but then you have no ink left.... and nothing has been printed.
I have returned three of these.

small form

does more than the CX6600 we had, and fax to, small form and takes up the same space, had it for 3 wks so too early to tell, was very pleased with the CX6600, so this is an upgrade, and will print onto discs, that is a +,. Only thing is that the doors stay open after the power is turned off, would like it to close automatically, so far everytine we start up, it asks for time & date reset, annoying, and also try to keep your cat from jumping onto the printer as the CX6600 had hard top, this does not.

Great Printer!

I've only had this printer for 2 weeks but so far absolutely love it. Have had a couple of paper jams and am hoping it was "user error" and not the printer!
It's very versatile, easy to set up & easy to use. Prints beautiful photos and the built-in "coloring pages" & "photo restoration" is nice for those not proficient with PhotoShop!

Cheaper to throw away than to use

This printer drinks ink when not in use. I'm lucky to get a few small pictures printed before having to buy your very expensive inks.
