xp800 Printer

So far Epson sent me 2 TWO and are sending me the third now for replacement of all the defective printers

Experience in Frustration

We purchased the Epson XP800 printer in Sept. 2013 and were delighted with its features. Because of limited technological skills there were several calls made for support. These calls were made to Manilla and took quite a bit of time. One continuing problem was the support staff could talk faster than I could listen - they were patient and repeated them selves often. After about one month the printer seemed to use a lot of ink so we purchased 2 new ink cartridges in black and a color package. After sucessful ink installation, the printer consistently gave the message to install new ink cartridges. This was done in sequence although no printing had been successful. The printer was carried to a service technician where it was purchased and he verified that every thing was correct in installation; since we had not purchased the stores' plan and we had used it for about 5 weeks we could only call the Epson Company. This we did, one support staff said the company would issue a new ink cartridge, a subsequent call obtained the promise that a new printer would be shipped within 2-5 business days and we should return the failed printer in the box of the new printer immediately after its arrival (2 - 7?) business days. The replacement printer was promised on Friday and the replacement printer arrived the following Friday. It was quickly installed and worked well that afternoon. The following morning it failed as the other one had. We went shopping for a different printer on Nov. 30 and purchased a new printer (not an Epson) from a different store. On December 1 we delivered the original printer in its shipping box to Fed-Ex and the replacement printer in the Epson Box for the first printer to the store where it had been purchased. A print test page was in the paper tray for the 'refurbished' (labeled) printer identifying the first installation test on 11/29 and the second test page on 11/30. We were delighted with the features promised in the XP-800 printer but the failure and subsequent service left much to be desired. Thank You for asking!

Ink sucker

in all the years of owning a printer the past twelve months have been my worst experience by far. My initial impression was very positive; the installation went well, it had all the features I wanted, it produced good quality print. Then one day lines started appearing across the page and it was down hill from there. I had to clean the ink head multiple times and while doing that we ran out of ink; the spiral began. Ink cartridges that didnt work, followed by cleaning the jets, followed by more ink cartridges. I finally gave up and have replaced it with a new priner from another provider. By the way, if you look hard enough you will see the same comments echoed on other review sites by other people.

I had to return XP-800 printer after just 22 days due to clogged print head. I suspect bad ink cartridge. Scanner very slow.

Not the best Epson printer

I have been using Epson printers for years and I use them pretty hard so I've had a few of them. This one is a pain! It uses a lot of ink mostly because I am always having to clean and/or change the ink. It has regular error messages that come up "cannot read the ink cartridge", when this happens, it says to reinstall the ink cartridge, then it runs thru the set up which cleans all the cartridges. After all this, it still cannot read it, 90% of the time I have to install 3 cartridges before it will work so keep plenty of spares on hand! Oh, and this will happen even in the middle of it working properly so then you only use part of a cartridge. Because of all the cleaning, I have to replace cartridges much sooner than I should (I've replaced to photo blacks in 3 months and never printed on photo), only get to use them partially, and some I can't use at all because they can't be read. Guess what? I only use EPSON ink too! This printer prints and copies well, it is compact and easy to use but the ink cartridge factor makes it a pain and expensive to use! Not happy with it.

Photo printing

I do not get the colors on my photo paper that I see on my computer screen. The pictures are usually darker than they appear on the screen. I am using only the Epson inks.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the worst printer I have ever purchased. The black in won't work, it runs throught ink like I drink coffee and the quality is poor. I will not be purchasing another Epson product.
