nice vibrant picture in 4k. sound is okay. software and ui is horrible. i use it primarily for tv, streaming, and gaming. feels unintuitive to switch between devices. i expected this tv to be much better than my previous older samsung 120mhz model. sadly it is not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not quite as impressed as I’d hoped
on January 29, 2023

i purchased this model primarily due to the glowing reviews regarding the picture quality; particularly comments about the vivid color and depth. i almost returned it due to finding it in sale somewhere else byt decided it wasn’t worth it. i was expecting to love the tv. while its good enough, the picture is not better than my older samsung led models (i’ve always preferred samsung).

DReeder,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the picture quality of your Q80B TV. To ensure you’ve got the latest image quality updates, please confirm that your TV is up to date with the latest firmware version. You can check by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
If the picture you’re seeing is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.
Go to Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode ...and select the mode that best fits your usage: 1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments. 2) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room. 3) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. 4) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
You can also go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings to manually fine tune your image.
For further assistance with settings adjustments, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for: • LiveChat • Manuals, Software, & Warranty Info

Got this for Christmas and love it. Only thing to mention is really thin & light so internal speakers are not the best. Looking forward to getting Samsung sound system. Tried the one I got from Christmas which is a Sony pretty disappointing so took back today. Shopping for compatible one today.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do not buy, terrible backlighting and built-in ads
on February 19, 2023

I bought a QLED because they supposedly have better backlighting than cheaper tvs of the same size, but this has the worst blacklighting of any TV I've ever had. It's uneven and very annoying. On top of this, the TV has ads built-in to the source/home screen that you cannot disable. More manufacturers are doing this but there are still some TVs that don't, so go buy one of those. The ads alone are enough to make me never buy a TV from Samsung again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Decent TV --- HORRIBLE REMOTE
on February 24, 2023

from NEW MEXICO
The TV is amazing when you can get the remote to work. The remote tends to A) Not respond B) continuously scrolls without a button input.
The PIP only works with a steam from another device can't stream 2 native TV apps. Picture is good sounds is good for TV speakers but honestly I have a sound bar connected, which has fair superior sound which is to be expected.
Samsungs Customer Service to try to fix the remote issues is a joke.

Blip,
We appreciate your thoughts on Multi View, and I'm sorry to hear that your remote is not working as expected. For optimal performance, we ask that you please ensure you've got the latest firmware version installed on your TV. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
If updating didn't help, you may also want to reset your remote by pressing and holding Return and Enter (the center of the navigation pad) for more than 10 seconds. After performing this reset, you will need to pair the remote to the TV again. To pair, stand within 1 foot of your TV, and press the Return and Play/Pause buttons simultaneously for at least 5 seconds or until a message appears on your TV indicating that the remote is now connected.
Please also check to see if your remote is charged. You can check remaining battery by going to: Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving > Available Remote Battery.
If the issue persists, please do try reaching out to us again to further assist. You can call Samsung Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
