Smoking’ Meat on NO HEAT

Bought my Traeger in 11/22 of last year, honestly I used the grill a total of 20 cooks, ranging from brisket, and Turkey. This grill has been kept clean following each cook, the reason I’m giving this grill a 1-star is not for the flavor of the impact the smoke from this grill has, nor is it against Traeger’s awesome customer service. It all started when my grill ran the first firmware update after a couple cooks. The fault was an igniter “missing” upon self test it would no longer work, Step1 call Traeger they sent an igniter out and in no time it arrived, installed and secured wiring housing. Turned grill on and man we were back in business-for about a minute- 0025/0024/0031? Every single code was popping up like this grill was out of its mind. Step 2 call Traeger, by this point I’m out of ideas and I’ve self tested the grill to be sure, next step given by Traeger, replace the lid sensor. Perfect, if that’s the fix no problem. Traeger shipped it out and boom it arrived in no time, I slapped that puppy on and I did the reset. I prayed to the BBQ Lord that this be the fix, danced my bbq rain dance and then… I heard it, the Armageddon of beeps all three codes popping up and taunting me. I’ve placed a lot of faith in this grill and it’s not cheap by any means. I think this might be the definitive end for using this Traeger if the next solve being sent doesn’t work.

Thanks for your feedback on the new Timberline. It is unfortunate that this has been your experience so far and you have been more than patient during the process. Luckily, there are only so many things that can be causing something like this, and based on what has been replaced already, you should at least be seeing a resolution with the latest, and hopefully last, part that is being sent.

Not happy day one

Super excited to get my first Treager. Been using a competitors brand for years. Right out of the box, the controller screen has a chip/crack in it. And then, seasoning never did achieve 500 degrees.
Fired up the grill this morning,(day 2) and the grill took 42 minutes to reach 500 degrees and then over shot to 513. Then dropped to 490, then up to 523. I did all the firmware updates right after unboxing.
Very disappointed with the temp control!! If this is how it’s supposed to be, it’s garbage! 42 minutes to get to 500 degrees is not innovative or ground breaking, it’s horribly long and it took so long because every few degrees, the temp dropped considerably.
In addition, this grill doesn’t have a temp setting as high. It has 500 degrees. So 500 should not be 523!

We sent out another firmware update 2 weeks ago that should have resolved these types of temperature issues. If your grill did not receive the latest update patch, and/or if you're still experiencing temperature swings greater than the allowed window of 15 degrees off (+/-) your set temperature, please reach out to us any day of the week, and we'd be more than happy to assist with getting your Traeger up and functioning properly.

PIece of crap over priced pile of scrape metal

I have two older tragers one was giving some Problems desided to upgrade biggest piece of crap I ever messed with timberline should have repaired the old one wasted my money would’ve given no stars if I could’ve

Excellent Grill & Smoker

My Timberline XL was delivered on April 30, I have done 5 cooks on it and used the induction burner twice. I have had no issues with it. I know some people are having issues and I hope they get them resolved. This is my 4th Traeger and this the best yet.

Sensors have never worked

Bought this smoker and it had sensor issues from the first day I brought it home. Would never spend the money on a Traeger again!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, and thank you for your review of the Traeger Timberline. There are really only a couple of sensors that you could be referring to, and any issues with them are typically very easy to correct. Additionally, whenever you have question regarding an error code coming up on the screen, please reach out to Traeger Customer Service right away. Not only will one of our agents quickly provide a resolution, any parts that are needed will be sent at no cost as long as the grill is still under warranty.
