I bought one of the very first Traeger timberlines 1300s. It has been the best smoker I have ever owned. Still going strong, dependable and reliable, each and every time. Sad I would like to upgrade to the new model, but mine is still performing optimally. I know things have changed since I purchased mine, but the guys at Texas Star Grill shop in Houston is an incredible place for all your smoking needs.

Does not live up to expectations

I bought this at the Kern County Fair. Got a great deal. I've had it about a week and have been on Traegers technical help line 4 times. This is not what I expected and I'm extremely disappointed in this expensive yard decoration. For the price, definitely not worth it. Stick with your old, simple models.

Traeger Timberline is exceptional in every way. Quality and functionality are superb. Workmanship is outstanding and the technology is amazing. Programming is simple and intuitive making cooking so easy and error free. We’ve stepped up our smoking and grilling abilities to a new level. Can’t say enough positive about this grill. Expensive but completely worth it - without regrets. Planning gourmet dinner parties for tonight and tomorrow and I am so confident the tenderloin tonight and salmon tomorrow will taste incredible - along with all of the side dishes. Five star recommendation

New Timberline has temperature control problems

I purchased the new Timberline to replace an existing Traeger that I use 3-4 times a week on average. On initial startup and seasoning the grill never achieved the target temperature. I made sure all of the latest firmware updates were applied. I then tried a high-temp cook at 500 degrees… after 45 minutes it never got above 225. Called customer support. They were very nice, but said this is a known issue that they’re working on. Couldn’t give me an estimated date for a solution. Searching reviews here and on other websites, this appears to be a significant problem with these new Timberlines. I wanted to love this grill… it offers so many improvements over my older model. Unfortunately, it’s currently a very expensive lawn ornament. Traeger, please fix this and make it right.

New Tim won’t get to temp

I’ve called support several times and this grille will not go to 500 (or even above 180). I’m told that the software team is “working on it” and there is “no timeframe in which a fix will be made”
How can anyone justify the price of this grille when it won’t even go to 200??
