You have to expect that it's not going to just float over the soil - it digs down and then you maneuver it to move on to the next spot, just like any garden tiller. However, I found it easy to handle by this 120 lb. 5'2" gardener.The best part was, when I got in a tight turn around spot in my raised bed, I just shut it off and turned it around! No worries about having to pull a cord to start it up again - just push a button and lift a lever. It dug deep, too. Would recommend it highly.

I bought a 80v tiller with battery. It is the best battery operated garden tiller and the battery holds charge for over 4hrs. Best purchase I've made in a long time

Super lightweight, easy to handle, charge lasts long enough that when it dies I am ready for a break. The battery charges quick and I can be back to work. I have rocky soil and clay about 6-8 inches down, it can still till that up, but I do have to focus it in one area for a minute sometimes if the sod is dense.
It is compact enough that is stores nicely as well.

Overall function of the cultivator is great. Out of the package the pins for the tines did not have enough clearance to fit. I had to grind the heads of the pins to fit. If a person had no tools that would give it a poor rating. The other negative is the plastic tine guard is too big. It needs to be half of that size. I thought about cutting it to a reasonable size so you can actually see where the tines are.

This is a cultivar to use on garden soils that has previously been broken up. It does a wonderful job around plants in rows to keep the soil loose and weed free. Machine was easy to assemble. Charged battery and went to work.
