Tills my garden

I am very pleased. My faithful Mantis died last year after 20. I have struggled with its replacement from the start. At age 75 I’m not ready to pull cords more than once and so I’m moving toward battery power. This tiller did great with my vegetable garden yesterday and all I had to do was push a button.

Overall, the tiller is good, better and more powerful than expected. It has worked well on heavy, clay soil. There are a few “buts…”. 1. The plastic screw knob holding the wheel assembly vibrates off—a lock washer would be a useful addition. Ibought one at the local hardware store to fixthe problem. 2. The unit came wihout the felt washers that are supposed to go between the blades. This delayed use of the tiller for over a week, when I had an e-mail from the company saying they were not really necessary. 3. The instructions omitted the installation of the plastic ring that secures the tines. A careful look at all the parts was adequate to show that(a) the outer tines were stamped on the wrong side, and (b) once turned around, the placement of the ring was self-evident. In sum, manufacturing QC could use a boost, user docs need revision, good design was overruled by pennypinching cost accounting, and we shall say nothing about telephone support staffing levels…. The unit works well in spite of all of the above.
It needs at least a 4 AH battery if you don't want to be running back and forth to the charger. It came with a 2.5. AH unit, but I use the higher capacity battery from one of my other tools.

Lots of power!

This tiller has plenty of power. I bought this to work up the spit for my garden spot and found it worked so good I decided to increase the size of my garden. Battery lasts about 30 minutes and takes about 30 minutes to recharge. Nice item to have, makes the job much easier!

Man this little tiller works great. I have 20 raised beds and I can till a bed as fast as my old mantis, with no smell, cranking issues, or loud noise. I can till 2 or 3 beds on 1 charge, that’s nice, ready for a break then anyway. My beds are 4ft X 16ft. I was really amazed how good it works. Stop and starting is a breeze. It’s a great tiller for the money.

Not quite big or powerful enough to break up existing sod to prep new garden area, but it does a great job on my existing garden beds. Battery lasts longer than I had expected and charges fast too.

I bought this a month ago and very pleased with my purchase. I had checked reviews on rototillers recommended for woman and this was in the top 3. I’d rate it higher because no mixing gas and no power cord. It’s light weight yet works great. The weeds in my garden were overgrown but this took care of them. I was concerned because some of the reviews mentioned the battery was hard to remove but it’s not. I have arthritis in my hands and have no difficulty removing the battery.

Very rapid charging

I purchased this May 2020 to prepare a large wildflower bed. It was able to manage some very heavy clay (slowly) and I needed to recharge half way through. The very rapid recharge wasn't much longer than the break I needed. Subsequent runs to incorporate sand and peat moss went quicker and didn't need to recharge. I wouldn't try to break up sod with this, but it is a nice light cultivator.
