Modular piece extremely difficult to detach

Though I have alsways been happy with Black & Decker products and have purchased them all of my adult life, I was disappointed with one aspect of this kettle: It was not advertised as having a plastic cup level indicator, INSIDE the kettle, so I was cooking plastic in boiling water each time. Extremely unhealthy! The instruction manual indicated that it was detachable, but I nearly broke the plastic piece that is attached to the heating element anchoring it to the inside wall of the kettle. Brand new and already having issues. NOT good. I do like that it is stainless steel, however.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I think this product is better then others made out of plastic (this one is stainless steel). Too bad, that it has not something made of glass, that I able to see what is water level in the kettle. I know, that inside the kettle is mark "MAX", and when I fill the utensil of course I know how much water is inside. But when kettle is not in use, to know how much water is inside I have to remove the lid.

It heats water incredibly fast, drastically cutting down the wait time for both my morning tea and any hot water I need for cooking. It's an essential and reliable product. The high-quality stainless steel and practical design are great, and the fact that it's cordless makes it so much easier to handle and pour without a cord getting in the way. Also it helps cleaning easier too.

Boils quick!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the BLACK+DECKER 1.7 L Stainless Steel Electric Cordless Kettle, and overall, I’ve been really pleased with it. It heats water quickly, holds plenty for multiple cups, and the cordless design with a 360° swivel base makes it super convenient to pour from any angle. I like that it automatically shuts off when the water boils and has boil-dry protection, which gives me peace of mind. The stainless steel exterior looks nice on my counter and feels durable, though I’ve noticed it does get a little hot to the touch, so you have to be careful. My only real complaint is that it doesn’t have any temperature settings, which would be nice for brewing different kinds of tea. It’s also not the easiest to clean if you have hard water. Still, for the price, it’s a solid, reliable kettle that does exactly what I need—boils water quickly and looks good doing it.

Great and reliable kettle

It heats water very quickly and the auto shut-off feature makes it safe and convenient to use. The stainless steel design looks stylish and fits perfectly in my kitchen. It is easy to pour and clean, and I even take it along on long trips where I need hot water for tea, coffee or to make soup. Overall, it is a great and reliable kettle for everyday use.
