Cooked in winter storm Elliot.

We bought this grill to replace a Traeger pro 780. This grill is awesome. We grilled outside during the storm. It was -5 with a wind chill of -28. The grill performed awesome and cooked our prime rib and all its sides for Christmas. Totally impressed.. where or 780 even with the blanket couldn’t have kept up. I would totally recommend this grill to anyone!

Horrible product. Class action lawsuit?

Does not ignite except in rare unpredictable circumstances. Once it lights, it shuts-off randomly and will not re-ignite. You can reset, use new pellets, pray... it will NOT re-start. Meat on the grill? Too bad.

Thank you for providing your feedback on the new Timberline XL. Obviously, this is not the experience that we expect anyone to have with their grill. The situation you are describing in not really something that we have been seeing, so it would certainly be worth reaching out to Traeger support. More often than not, issues with the grill can be corrected with a single phone call. When you have the time, please contact us for assistance. We are available until 10:00 PM MST every night of the year.

Pleasantly surprised

I spent a large sum and was fearful it would be a waste… I was wrong, very versatile and can handle a load. I catered a party fo 45 with ease. Brisket, pork, ribs all at different times and shared temperatures. Amazed!

Set up our new Traeger Timberline XL yesterday, went to use it today and it caught fire!!! Thankfully, we were home before it burnt our house down. I will never trust this piece of junk ever!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, and thank you for reviewing the Timberline XL. Fires for new grills, regardless of the model, rarely happen and are generally not related to the grill's functionality. Typically, these only occur after the grill has been used a while, and grease has been allowed to buildup, which may eventually ignite. However, for brand new touchscreen models, it is usually due to either using a liner/foil on the drip tray, or in this case, a firepot not being fully installed into its position. If you ever have any questions when setting up and using your Traeger, please reach out to us at 1-800-TRAEGER, any day of the year and one of our agents will be happy to help.

Why can't we give ZERO stars
on April 25, 2023

I thought I upgraded from a Timberline to the TImberline XL. If I could give the XL 0 stars and get to write a review I would. It is impossible to keep clean. It cannot keep a constant temperature. I have no idea how many meals I have ruined because it ran away to over 500 degrees and burned EVERYTHING. Too much money for an inferior product

It's just awesome

Moving from my first generation to this is like moving from a 72 'vette to a 2022 - they might have the same name, but they are not the same machine. Smoke is better, design is better, the overall functionality is better, and cleanup is so much easier. Brisket, pork butt, burgers, sausage, and more so far. While I am pleased with the performance, it does seem to take more time to get to temperature, but I will gladly take the improved smoke over time to temp.

Very thing works great as far as cooking and smoking .
Drops WiFi to often for a grill of this caliber.
Response from traegergrills.comBy TraegerNovember 13, 2022
Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to review our Timberline XL. We are stoked the grill is functioning properly during the cooks. We regret to hear the WiFi keeps dropping. We understand the WiFi feature of our grills, is important. We want to make sure the grill is within 20ft of the router, making sure there are not a lot of devices connected that can be pushing the grill off the network. We also want to ensure there is no advanced security on your network that can prevent the grill from staying on the network. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us from 6 AM - 10 PM MT, 7 days a week, and one of our team members will get you squared away.

TEMP CONTROL SUCKS
on August 1, 2024
Posted by: Keith drake
Bought this and extremely disappointed with the temperature regulation. My original timberline varies about 2 degrees. This one varies about 30 to 40 degrees. I own 5 Traegers and this is very disappointing
Response from traegergrills.comBy Traeger GrillsTraegerAugust 5, 2024
Hi, and thank you for reviewing the Timberline XL. Although all pellet grills can be expected to fluctuate a little due to the way they work, swings of up to 30 – 40 degrees are certainly excessive. Unless you are using the Super Smoke feature, which is more about maximizing smoke production than precise temperature control, the range should typically fall within 25 degrees in either direction, with the average still being very close to what the grill is set to. But if these extreme swings are occurring during normal cooking, then they should be correctable without much effort. The most common causes for this type of behavior on the new touchscreen versions of the Timberline (and Ironwood) are often related to an improperly installed firepot, outdated firmware, or using foil on the drip tray. However, if these have already been checked, or if you would just like some help checking them, please give Traeger Customer Service a call. One of our agents will go over everything mentioned above, and even some more unlikely possibilities if it turns out to be something else.
