Decent smoker, but not a grill

This is my first Traeger and I've been using it for about a month. It looks great and performs decently as a smoker, but don't expect to get rid of your regular grill. There's no way to get the timberline to grill or sear anything, and to try takes forever. I do love having it, and the food comes out great, but it doesn't do as much as advertised especially for the cost.

What can I say? I am just amazed by the space the 1300 XL provides. The design is very well thought out. Smoked leg of lamb, two whole chicken, baby back ribs, and pork shoulder for my trial. All could not have turned out any better. The unit did shut off automatically once in the middle. I am not sure what could have caused it. Mind you, it was like 38 degrees outside! But this unit performed like a charm! Have not tried the side stove yet. Definitely recommend this beast of a smoker!

I read a lot of good things and some bad about the new Timberline, I went ahead and purchased it to judge for myself. The Timberline came in a very cool package with not a bunch of packing material! It took about 1 1/2 hours or less to put it together (The weather was HOT HOT). All parts came with the BBQ, but for the price you would think they would include the cover and the other available accessories, like the front shelf, butcher paper holder and the tray (They are expensive). When I first fired it up, it failed in the seasoning process with an "igniter error", then within minutes it said the seasoning process was completed and ready to use. I followed a YouTube video from a Youtuber to make sure it was seasoned correctly just to be sure. I've had the BBQ for a few weeks now and absolutely love it! This is my first smoker, I've done a couple of briskets, steaks and poppers, they have all come out perfect. At this point of ownership I would rate it a 10 out of 10 Stars. I highly recommend the Traeger Timberline XL. Traeger, quit being so cheap and include the accessaries!

Failed in less than a month, ruined a party

I spent thousands on Traeger’s new top-of-the-line grill, and it failed in less than a month, ruining a party we were supposed to have. The self-serve support info was weak (e.g., instructions to check parts without explaining what they look like or how to get to them). Better support info could have saved Traeger and me a lot of time. The support agent was great, but we could not resolve the problem, so now I will not be able to use my grill for several more days, until I receive a replacement part. Traeger offered me absolutely nothing for my lost money and credibility further damaging my newfound negative overall perception of Traeger, which I now feel compelled to share, so potential new buyers can make a more informed decision about such a large purchase.

Inside of lid separated

Inside of lid separated also leaks smoke from lid for a a grill coasting 4k it is not worth the money have had nothing but issues with this grill

Avoid at all costs

The worst grill ever. There are too many problems too list but the most frustrating would be the constant high temperature errors. Any time I set the grill to 500 degrees it finds a way to over heat and shuts down. But the strangest thing ever is when I was cooking a brisket, I had it on for 10 hours at 200 super smoke. Took it off and wrapped it and put back on at 250. 15 minutes after that I get a high temperature error and turns out the grill is on fire. And yes I cleaned my grill after every cook. I bought a pit boss instead and have had 0 issues. Don’t make an expensive mistake!

Expensive hunk of junk. I want my money back.

Whelp after 7months of use, I’m updating my review from 5 stars to 1. Just spent 2 hours in 5 degree weather at 11 at night trying to fix this expensive hunk of junk in hopes of saving my inflation adjusted prime brisket. Nope not this time, the igniter won’t work and sounds like the motherboard needs to be replaced. Now I have to do this in the oven…l don’t even own liquid smoke. Not sure the part will get here before Thanksgiving or if it will even fix the issue, so there goes thanksgiving bplans as well. This isn’t the first time my cook has been delayed because of software issues, updates or malfunctions. I was a Traeger guy for 14years, but they got this one wrong. Don’t waist your money.

Nothing but problems since I purchased it! Had it for 2 months now and used it maybe 5 times! Very very frustrated and disappointed, I can not in good conscience recommend anyone buy this.
