We replaced a working upright freezer because the old one - had to be defrosted even - was not energy efficient. It is almost too soon to evaluate how much less this freezer is using, but we're sure it does use less. It's the same size as the one we replaced, but it seems roomier. Maybe it's the lack of frost, but we love the layout. I also love the thought that I will never have to defrost it.
