I originally bought the Casper because I didn’t know anyone in the city and the delivery seemed easy for a bed with good reviews. I never expected it to be as good for my back as it has been. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the standard thickness one. 150 lb side sleeper and for me I wanted just a tiny bit more softness on the top layer, so I added a quilted topper. I've only had it for a month, but so far no numb arm from sleeping on it. I wouldn't say the mattress needs a topper, just for my own personal taste it gives it that little extra something. I opened the package in the middle of the day, and there was a slight odor, but by the time I went to sleep I didn't recall noticing it and I forgot all about that until now, so whatever new mattress odor there was went away pretty quick.
