Unboxing was fine, there was no smell which I had read a lot. We used it after letting it air out for a day and it is really firm. I was hoping the cooling gel would help, but it feels warmer than a typical mattress does. It's comfy and soft, definitely not like previous memory foam mattresses where you get enveloped and cant get back out. I'm not over the moon, but I love the size and I didn't have to carry it up a flight of stairs so color me happy.

We started to realize what good sleep was again and what we had been missing out on. So many of the aches and pains we had after waking each morning are a memory at the hands of this mattress in a box. Outstanding is the best word for it.

However, I feel it leans a bit to the firm side, which I prefer. I have slept on other foam mattresses and woke up all sweaty. No problem with the heat on Casper. Their is a slight lingering chemical smell which should go away with time. It is not strong enough to offend me. I like the mattress and would purchase again.
