The Casper has much more firmness than expected but not so much that it’s uncomfortable. Great support where it’s needed.

Back Aches Begone!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had severe back problems for years (compressed fractures, herniated discs, etc) that have ruined sleep for me. I got a Casper Mattress about a month ago -- I have NEVER slept so soundly or so comfortably in my 66 years! I could recommend this mattress to everyone.

No more feeling the dips or rusty springs of an old traditional mattress, and it's not quite as dense as tempurpedics I've tried. I wanted so badly to love this mattress...however, I am sorely underwhelmed with what I received. My initial disappointment was with needing to assemble the box spring, which was a huge inconvenience as someone who lives alone. This is not very obvious when you make your purchase online, and should be explicitly stated. The box spring alone weighed 100 pounds! After requesting a return, I almost ruined my back trying to re-seal the box it came in and dragging it down two flights of stairs.
Disappointment #2- the chemical smell of this mattress, which is incredibly pungent, and has penetrated my entire bedroom. After a week with the mattress, the smell has not subsided one bit. Furthermore, I am someone who tracks her sleep quality each night, and my data does not lie- since purchasing the Casper, I have had WORSE nights of sleep! As a side sleeper, this mattress is WAY TOO FIRM. I woke up this morning with incredible hip and shoulder pain- even my fingers hurt! I will absolutely be sending this mattress back and purchasing one from a competitor.
