A little more firm than I was expecting in the middle and a little softer than I was expecting at the head. I’m pretty particular about my mattress and I’ve been able to sleep without increased back pain so I would recommend it.

Very comfortable mattress

We actually had a lot of fun "unboxing" our Casper. It was VERY heavy, and took two of us to wrangle it down the hall. The "inflating" was rather intriguing, and my teenager enjoyed watching the process.
We have found the bed to be far more comfortable than the traditional mattress we had before. Admittedly, I had trepidation about the whole "bed in a box" notion, but we have been pleased with it and are sleeping well.

We've had our old foam mattress for about 15 years, and after realizing how old it was, decided it was time to get a new one. After some research, we decided to give The Casper a try. We both agree that the mattress sleeps a lot cooler compared to our old mattress. Our last bed didn't have a cover, but this one does, and it appears to be well-made. After reading a lot of the reviews - many of which mentioned it was too soft or two firm - we figured the firmness would be right in the middle. After sleeping on it, both of us agree it's a firm mattress. So much so, I have wondered if we were sent the wrong mattress. My husband loves the firmness, but for me, it's painful to sleep on it. I suffer with several autoimmune diseases and have a lot of joint and muscle pain. I need some give in a mattress to cradle my body, and this one doesn't have it. We're now trying to figure out if we need to return this, get separate twin xl mattresses, or if we should spend more money to get a topper that will help me. It's frustrating to have spent a bunch of. money on a mattress that only one of us is enjoying.

All my favorite podcasters were raving about their Casper mattresses, and with a 100-day tryout period, I had nothing to lose (except my back pain from the old mattress). Lying down for the first time was like falling back into a cloud. I sleep soundly for the first time in years, and wake up without my joints hurting! Five stars!
