I had no problem with the opening of the mattress from the box. I have it on an adjustable frame when it is in sleep prosition it feels like it could be fermer. The mattress has been open and we have been sleeping on it for 3 weeks and it still has a chemical smell. The change from spring mattress to foam takes some getting use to. I think all will turn out okay. We have a few weeks left to go.
