[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Choosing a mattress online is tough work. There are a ton of sites to go to, but it's always unclear which ones are little more than paid advertising. In the end, I chose to go with Casper for several reasons. First...they had been around for a while and seemed like a trustworthy company. But maybe more importantly, they had a store in my area and they had the mattress I wanted in stock. Contrary to my beliefs, the man at the store told me the mattress only needed a few hours to be ready for use. I got home from the store at 8pm that night and went to sleep at around 11.That was about three weeks ago. In the time between now and then, I'm been sleeping great. I really cant think of anything to complain about. It's a comfortable mattress!I am generally a pillow hugging side sleeper. Sometimes I end up kind of half on my stomach. I would definitely recommend this mattress to friends and family, and as a matter of fact will be buying another one for another room in the coming months.
I've owned two original design Caspers, one a queen, the other a full. One used directly on the floor, the other on Casper's support and frame. Both of them, superb rest and sleep. I sink into the covers in whatever position strikes my fancy and may not move for hours, because every position is comfortable, throughout the night and when waking up in the morning. No sore neck, no hip pain, no back pain. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to a traditional spring mattress. This is the only bed I ever want to sleep in.
I really wanted to love this bed, but I just can't. Sadly it's going back after giving it about 2 months to sleep on. I'm 5'10' and 130 pounds, and the bed was just way too firm and caused some pressure points. All the ads say that you'll feel like you're sleeping on a cloud, but it was so firm that it felt like I was sleeping on a really expensive air mattress personally. When I lay in the bed on my back to watch TV, it's decent, so it might be good for back sleepers. I'm a side and stomach sleeper, so it's taken me a solid hour to find a comfortable position to fall asleep, and this even happens with a 1 inch latex topper on top of it. The reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I'm in love with the pillows. They are firm enough to support your neck but soft enough to feel cozy, I noticed my neck pain has gone away since using them, but unfortunately with the bed being so firm, the pain is everywhere else. One other thing...the bed is supposed to be 12 inches high and mine only measured to 10 inches. It's also a half in longer and an extra inch wide, so it hangs over my bed frame. Buyer beware.
I ordered the Casper mattress and it just arrived. It was my first mattress purchase in over 10 years and my first foam mattress I have ever bought. I thought the ordering process went smoothly as did setting up the mattress upon delivery. I have now slept on it for two nights. It is very comfortable and right for me in many ways but I have one major concern. To me, it gets very hot and it is keeping me up at night. So the assertion that it sleeps cool is not the experience I am having. I am going to give it another week or two before deciding to return it. I really want to keep it though as it otherwise is fantastic. The heat issue though is a big one for me.
