Not For Heavier People

This mattress is not supportive enough for heavy people. I am almost 300 pounds and this mattress is not comfortable. My hips sink while my shoulders don’t, causing my back to bend backwards. Long term this becomes very uncomfortable and is causing back pain. If you’re still uncomfortable at the end of the trial period don’t make the mistake I did of thinking you just need a little more time to get used to it, send it back. I’m now looking to replace this mattress less than six months after purchasing it.
I purchased the Hybrid King. From the first night sleeping on it to several weeks later this is one of the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. It replaced my old pillow top. The hybrid to me is a medium feel. Great whole body support. Firm but soft. So comfortable, that I usually don’t want to get out of it!
I had scoliosis surgery when I was 16 and unfortunately this major surgery helped me but caused a mess of other problems. I found myself getting such pain in my neck/shoulder I’d have to take a week off from work, have a hospital visit, steroid injections, etc. the pain got more and more intense each year. My last episode I ended up not being able to see due to the pain. No specialist could tell me what was wrong. Then I bought this mattress and 3 yrs later with NO EPISODES I can say I’m extremely thankful for this bed. I even just recently bought a king size this past month for our new place. Thank you to the team that LITERALLY saved my life.
From the second I laid down on it it was killing my hip bones. I do not recommend this for a side sleeper. I am 136 pounds and it’s still not good for pressure relieving. I find a lot of pain in my hips and shoulders. Very disappointed. If you’re back sleeper then it might work out great or even stomach. But I would not get this if you are a side sleeper. Period.
Unboxing experience: The unboxing experience was easier and more enjoyable than a regular mattress. That said, the box started to tear when carrying it up stairs. Once removed from the box, it was a little difficult to handle because of the round shape. Unwrapping was easy and it aired out relatively quickly, even compared to traditional mattresses.
Sleeping on the mattress: Sleeping has been great and far better than my previous mattress. I’m getting deeper sleeps than I have in years. My body feels better and more relaxed. The mattress also feels much less susceptible to fatigue or wear like a regular mattress.
Recommending to a friend: I would definitely recommend a Casper to a friend. The mattress is the most comfortable mattress I have slept on. It breathes very well. The mattress alleviated back pain and tightness after the first night.
having now slept on my Casper Cal. King Original for 2 months I must say I am pretty disappointed. It is firm, maybe too firm for a side sleeper like me. I wake up every morning with a lower back stiffness that takes about an hour or more to "Walk Off" At 5'10'' & 175 lbs I am trim, and fairly muscular for a man my age. I work out regularly with weights and do lots of walking and am very active so honestly my feeling is the problems have to be with the Mattress. I have even tried to sleep more on my back as well as trying different pillows but that has not helped and only transferred some of the stress to my upper back. My Wife who had knee replacement surgery which required sleeping in a lounger actually gets a better nights sleep than I do. She has now tried to sleep in our bed and she now finds herself with the same lower back stiffness that I have. She is a back sleeper. We are not happy with our choice.
