Sweet Dreams Are Made Of These
on May 27, 2020

Hands down, this is by far the best mattress I've ever slept. Considering this is just one of the cheaper Casper mattresses, I've been sleeping on it for about a month now. I go to bed and its easy to get comfortable to wake up refreshed without any backache. Sweet dreams really are made of Casper Mattresses.

Great but way too firm

I have to say, I'm really disappointed that Consumer Reports would describe this mattress as 3/10, "soft." We took that information and made a purchase based on it, when it completely misrepresents the mattress. Now I'm losing trust in all their mattress ratings. Also, how can you trust the Casper ratings when they lump them together (foam and hybrid and old nonexistent mattress reviews)? First of all, the mattress (original hybrid) smelled too awful to sleep in for a week and a half. It still smells, three weeks later, not dangerously bad, but not good either, it doesn't affect sleep, but the smell permeates the room and even the next room. It smelled so bad for first two weeks that I would not have let my toddler sleep in it. For me, a petite back sleeper, it was comfortable but definitely on the firm side, it pushed my body up. I enjoyed the support though, I slept well (though I was very tired). My husband, however, a 6 foot, slender side sleeper, was very uncomfortable. He tossed and turned all night (for three nights) and said his arms fell asleep. In the end, it was just too firm for him. Plus, super disappointing support team at Casper, at least the last conversation. Clearly just reading off the website, and not knowledgeable. They couldn't identify how firm it was supposed to feel compared to all foam, despite suggesting that we try the all foam instead, and wouldn't stand by the same discount they gave us for the hybrid for us to buy the all foam, which doesn't seem fair. Honestly, I think they gave us too much of a discount in error to begin with but again, that is unprofessional. I really wanted to like this bed, but it's just too firm for us. Would only recommend to those eager to have a medium firm to firm mattress.

Doesn't Hold Up Over Time
on May 26, 2020

I was excited for my Casper, and it was great improvement over sleeping on air mattresses when purchased in 2016. I enjoyed the bed for the first year without any complaints, but shortly after year two I noticed issues with the cushion's ability to hold it's form or retain any stability. Now just after four years the bed lacks any support. We routinely rotate the bed and keep it on the recommend frame type (flat platform) so I've been in denial about the constant degrade of the cushion. Currently in search of other options.

be careful what you buy

It was given 100 nights of trial...After 200 nights I started feeling severe back pain
I tried physical therapist to help me recover, I'm a very active person...Then we came to a point of conclusion it was the Casper bed that was causing it....Rather sleep on the floor than on that bed. It's that serious, 100 nights not enough to see if the bed works for you or not.
Again be careful what you buy people.

Great at first, but saggy 5-years in

We purchased our Casper 5 years ago and loved it from the start, recommending it to anyone we know who was looking for a new mattress. However, recently it is starting to feel uncomfortably soft and saggy. Although we have been rotating the mattress regularly, it is now soft enough that my husband makes a noticeable dent that I tend to roll towards during the night, and I also sometimes wake with lower back pain. So-- even though I was expecting/hoping our Casper would last us closer to 10 years, we are thinking about getting a new one five years early. Disappointing!

More comfortable than I imagined

Our old mattress was 25 years old. It was just something we never thought about until we realized we were sleeping terribly. The Original is awesome... it’s a little weird. Nice and firm, yet soft at the same time. We’re both sleeping great now.
