My husband, who is large, sleeps on his back and side, had been sleeping on a friend's Casper for 4 months, and liked it so much that we bought one for our bed. I have hip and back issues, only sleep on my side, and within a couple of months feel like there's a depression where I sleep, my hip pain is starting to come back. The uncompressed area feels a whole lot better, but it shouldn't be like that after a few months. In short, for me it hasn't worked out, but I think the greater softness works better for DH, and if it were only up to him, he'd definitely keep the Casper.

This was the best purchase we have ever made! We were tired of mattreses that developed a divet within the first few months. My husband also has arthritis in his back. We bought our Casper 15 months ago and am still absolutely in love with it. Every night when we get into bed we can't help but comment how good it feels. You'd think we would be used to it by now and take it for granted, but every night we are reminded again how much we love it. We both sleep better and it is much more comfortable for my husband's back. We are amazed that it doesn't show a single sign of wear. It is still just as firm as day one. Speaking of firm, it is confusingly firm and amazingly comfortable at the same time. It provides firm support, but cradles pressure points perfectly. An added bonus is that when one of us moves, the other isn't disturbed and doesn't wake up. Before purchasing our Casper, we read some reviews that said it was too hot. That has not been our experience at all. Friends recently purchased a Casper after hearing us rave about ours. They have had their mattress several months now and also love it. Even our dog seems to love this bed! Hands down, it is the best purchase we ever made! With the 100-day guarantee you have nothing to lose...try it!

We needed a softer mattress for my wife who, gets hip pain on a firm mattress, while I need firm support for my back. We considered buying separate mattresses but after reading consumer reports, who rates the firmness 5 out of 10, we decided to try it. The softer top layers seem good for her, while the firmer bottom layer seems good for me.
