A must for anyone who loves women history!

Barbie inspiring generations of girls and boys

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Barbie has seriously done it again, these inspirational women dolls are absolutely amazing. They each hold history and an incredible lesson to learn from each one. My daughter loved learning about Ida B. Wells and journalism has changed the world. The features of this doll are so beautiful! The hair is so realistic and the clothing is amazingly and beautifuly made.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So special

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I was a little girl my mom bought me the holiday Barbie every year. We never opened we just collected them and compared the changes from year to year. My daughter has seen my “special Barbies that are still in the box and asked when she was about 3 if she could have a special Barbie in the box. I told her we would see. Fast forward to to Mattel’s Inspiring Women Series and the first special Barbie she received was Katherine Johnson. Now we add Ida B Wells to this collection. This doll is beautiful the attention to detail with the hair texture and facial features is amazing. The outfit is very well done as is the newspaper accessory. Love this so much. Thank you for adding a new tradition for my family.

Fabulous doll featuring important women of history

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this series that Mattel is releasing about inspiring women. First I want to comment on the box, I love how the box is as much of a treat as the doll. It has this lovely orange color with a transparent white design on the side. The back tells the story of the featured person, in this case Ida B Wells and showcases her achievements. The scene behind the doll is room from her time period with a copy of the Memphis Free Speech framed on the wall, which is a nice touch. I like how the doll has a barbie touch but it has a unique feel onto itself to make it distinct. The doll appears to have a more normal body frame than a standard barbie. I really love the lace detail on the dress around the collar, down the front, and around the bodice. I do think the newspaper accessory is a nice touch as well. I think the doll is a great showcase doll. This doll was a great conversational prompt with my girls. From seeing the doll they instantly wanted to know more about her history and it spurred them to research more about Ida. I think it would be nice if there was a QR code that would like to additional information about Ida because I think the doll is a great starting point to learn more. I this doll is a great part of an inspiring line.

Stunning and Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ida B Wells Barbie is absolutely amazing. The beauty in the features is unreal and the dress is stunning. I love that my daughters are able to learn about history and play and have fun all at the same time. I hear them playing and saying "but Ida is a leader" as I am in another room and it makes me proud to know that they can incorporate learning in to play and that Barbie is helping with that.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great fun for all of my kids!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first Barbie my kids have ever had (ages 6, 8, and 10). They don't usually care for them, but they are obsessed with this one! My 10 year old immediately used her Christmas money to buy another (Maya Angelou). She loves making little props for it (silly newspapers, houses, hats, etc). We're planning to put them on display shelves in our school room.
