[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We upgraded to an induction cooktop after our 12 year old Viking accidentally shattered (our fault)
The speed at which this cooks is amazing! Water boils in half the time and we are so impressed. Buying some new pans is the only negative.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We don't use all the additional controls on the cooktop, but the ones we use satisfy our cooking needs. One problem: It's hard, in some light, to see the control labels. We wish they were illuminated. Also, cleaning the cooktop often results in inadvertently turning on a burner. We like the high speed setting for boiling water, as well as the low settings for long, slow simmering. Overall, very nice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love this induction cooktop so much! It has changed the way we cook. I was a chef for many years, and thought I could never give up my gas cooktop. After using induction, I would never go back to a gas burner for several reasons. Most importantly, you can boil a pot of water in 2 minutes, and this cooktop is sooooo easy to clean! You spray and wipe, and it is clean. No burners to remove, just wipe and go. Love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose an induction cooktop because I hate cleaning the grills and grates of a gas cooktop. The induction heats up quickly and I love it’s seamless and clean look in my kitchen. The one thing I’m struggling with on this model is the buttons are not always very responsive. Sometimes I am pushing the power on button multiple times before the burner will finally turn on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We moved into a new unit in a new development and have this cooktop. Two of the burners did not work. Don’t you think the technician would have check the unit to make sure it was fully operational before he left? Then it took 3 weeks for another technician to come and fix it. Do yourselves a favor and don’t buy KitchenAid products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I accidently dropped a jar on my old electric cooktop and it cracked. I spent some time deciding if I should replace it with an electric or an induction cooktop. I decided to go with induction. I purchased this cooktop and had it installed about 3 weeks ago. i was asked by the installer to check if the cutout space was appropriate for the cooktop. This was a bit of a challenge since my old cooktop was still in place but with the help of a friend and comparing the old cooktop installation guide with the new cooktop it appeared to be adequate and thankfully the new cooktop fit perfectly. I am still get somewhat used to using induction cooking versus an electric cooktop. The enclosed instructions are not real clear as to what 5,6 7 mean when you turn on the burner. If any liquid is spilled on the cooktop whether you have a burner on or not, a pinging alarm goes off until the spill is wiped off at the area dries off. A good safety feature but not sure I read about that in the manual. Cooking wise, it appears to cook quickly. I have used it for canning and hot water baths and it workes fine. I also have used it for some frying and also cooking stews. I was aware that the cookware needed to be compatible. I checked all my cookware with a magnet. The lock feature is a nice addition as I can clean the stove top with a cleanser without the alarm going off for moisture. I haven't tried all the features yet-like simmer. It may take awhile for me to get used to all of the features but so far I am satisfied with my purchase
