A Good Look and Great Cooking Options

Look the professional look and are enjoying the combination microwave/convection cooking options. Like the Chef Connect feature using bluetooth connection with the range. The single knob on the modern control panel is a little odd?

Purchased product to replace older GE profile microwave which was installed when kitchen was redone 20 years ago.I installed the new microwave in same spot with no modification and have been very happy with its performance and would recommend it too everyone

Rattling Fan

The fan rattles very loudly like a bunch of loose screws are in it. The outside stainless has a square on the door that will not clean off. Installation was subpar. Screws are not completely in. Quite unhappy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You will hear a fan-bearing noise if the microwave is operated in temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It is recommended that the room temperature be at least 50 degrees Fahrenheit for proper operation. For more information please refer to the link below:

This Will Be the LAST GE Microwave I Buy

I purchased this microwave in December 2022. At first I had no problems. But I recently tried to change the power level while using the unit and got the message "power level cannot be changed at this time". I double checked the manual to make sure I was doing correctly; same message. I came to the website to try to figure out what could be wrong, all I found were the same instructions that were in the manual. The control pad shorted out on the last one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great purchase

I really do like my microwave/convection oven, but the air fryer leaves a little to be desired. I cannot get it to crisp up the food very well. I was hoping to eliminate my countertop air fryer, but that will not be the case. However, I have not once used my oven since I this microwave/convection over was installed. I have cooked chicken, pork chops, a peach cobbler, and brownies in it, with excellent success. Best part is it doesn't heat up my house in the Texas summer heat!

Very poor quality. Arrived Damaged.

Door was scratched. Got a new door that had a broken latch. Got another door with a puncture wound. The exhaust fan was LOUD and needed to be replaced. That took 2 service visits to fix.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Features! that aren’t that great to use

GE micro review
Having used our GE Profile Microwave for about a year, we’ve been fairly satisfied.
But if I just wanted to be satisfied with the most basic of features for a microwave, why did I buy this one?
Pros
Easy to clean
Aesthetically nice
Fits the standard over oven cabinet space.
Defrost results are not as bad as previous microwaves
Lots of different functions
Decent interior space
Cons
Inputting the time and making sure it starts takes getting used to;
Would not recommend for someone that doesn’t like things being fixed that aren’t broken;
That darn filter change light;
Needing to unscrew a panel to get to a filter every 6 months;
Less than impressive air fryer & convection oven features;
!!!!!!!!And I can’t say this loud enough: do not by this model for elderly parents, especially if they have arthritis!!!!!!!
The manner in which you use the button to confirm a selection and then again to start the microwave/timer/etc is cumbersome.
For the first couple of months, we would swear that we pushed the button and heard the beep just to discover later that the timer didn’t start or it didn’t start cooking the food.
I think it’s the double confirmation that threw us off. You have to dial in say the number, push the button once to select the number, then push the button a second time to initiate the cooking or count down.
I also think that because the button rotates, you think you’re pushing the button but actually you turned the knob a bit.
“Push” is not quite accurate either. In the workflow, you grab the sides of the button with your thumb & forefinger, rotate it to change the numbers, you naturally don’t then take your hand away and push the button face with a pointed finger, you instinctively leave your thumb and forefinger grasping the sides and “push”.
It takes getting used to, is not intuitive, requires you to unlearn an ingrained input method, feels off & frustrating at first, and leads to a lot of user error for the first month or so.
I’m sure the engineers thought “Well when you enter numbers on a keypad you then move your hand back, point your finger, & press the start button. See they’re the same!”
Sorry. In my former work life, I spent a lot of time explaining to engineers that most people aren’t engineers; and that when it comes to convenience and intuitive actions, neither are they.
This input method isn’t a world ender but there’s no way I would recommend this microwave to an elderly person specifically because of its input method. Having arthritis would make it even more difficult.
Not to mention, the microwave would require them to stand on a ladder or the countertop to see and remove the screws on the filter compartment EVERY SIX MONTHS to change the filter
Other GE models don’t require you to remove screws to access the filter. Not sure why this one does.
I would also remove the second button press for execution. One press should be enough to confirm your selection and initiate the function.
The traditional keypad design doesn’t require you to push anything else but the start button after you enter the last digit.
Haven’t really used extra features much. First day, I used the Air Fry feature. I wasn’t impressed out-of-the-box. First I was surprised by the restrictions for using the Air Fry and Convection features. You have to use this rack but not that rack for this or that.
Which would mean I couldn’t just leave the metal rack in the microwave. Which would also mean I would have to look for the manual online or on a shelf for the first dozen times i use those extra functions to remember what I can and can’t use in the microwave for non-microwave functions.
I also dread that someone else in the household will use the microwave before I remember to remove the metal rack that might destroy the microwave when used with micro-waves, (maybe?)
Also, the rack provided for the Air Fryer feature is smaller than the capacity of my countertop Air Fryer that I was hoping to replace with this.
To top it off, the food was not nearly as crisp as with my air fryer.
Lastly, GE really falls short with easy to make and post online instructional videos. Their “Air Fryer feature” videos are just 22 sec mini-commercial with no informational value.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
