Garbage rubber straps

The straps for these masks are made of a thin, barely elastic, rubber strip that fails so quickly and consistently that I have to assume it was engineered to do so. Pre-stretch, re-stretch, i've tried it all and there's no way to get better performance or longevity. I've used 3M N95 masks for over a decade, and suddenly the straps are nowhere near what they were pre-pandemic.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

They'd probably be really good masks if you could actually put them on and use them. The Straps break very easily. Don't tell me to pre-stretch them because even the act of slowly, gently, ever so cautiously trying to pre-stretch will cause the straps to break. I have used 3m masks for years in my woodworking and never had a problem. These are different, and not good.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We recommend pre-stretching this respirator so if you feel there may be a quality issue, please call the 3M Techline at 1-800-243-4630 Mon-Friday from 8-4:30 pm CST to discuss your concerns.
These are great masks for the price. The mask itself appears to be identical to the former 3M 8210 plus. The straps, however, are not the same. On the 8210 plus masks 3M used a very robust, elastic fabric material that was extremely durable and flexible. Why do big companies always change what is working so well? For just a few cents a mask, they could put much better straps on these. I hate throwing away good masks just because cheap straps have failed.

Thanks for your feedback and sorry that we did not meet your expectations.
Some of the strap breakage may be due to not stretching the straps prior to donning. Please see the box and user instructions on how to pre-stretch the straps before putting on the respirator.
Been using these for decades because they work for all sorts of dust. You can't go wrong with these. I use the size large. I thing that's the most popular size. Save your lungs! For fumes and vapors I use the 3M full face respirator or my inline respirator system for full vehicle or equipment painting.
Superb and cheap masks that can be confidently used in a single use manner without needing reuse. The straps are quite unique requiring getting used to but they are sturdy and functional after some prestretching. The fit is good and the nose piece makes for an even better seal for glasses users. Fits well for users with large heads.
Great product! Certified protection for the same price as off-brand KN95 masks!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave your review.
KN95 is a respirator performance rating just like a NIOSH approved N95 and not off brand. KN95 respirators are designed to meet performance requirements in China/Asia and are manufactured there.
FEMA imported a number of 3M KN95 respirators into the US last year to address the DR shortage.
This mask is the most economical way to protect ourselves from COVID, and other uses for N95 masks. Nice form fitting seal. Takes a few minutes to get used to.
