Going on 3 years of LOVING our Owlet!

My almost 3 yr old son has several medical diagnoses, and we LOVE the Owlet. While we are aware it is not a medical device, it gives us so much peace of mind. When medical problems do arise, it shows his increase in heart rate and even showed his O2 decrease when he had RSV last year. We were able to tell my son’s pediatrician this and take extra precautions. We will use the Owlet as long as we can!
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product does not connect to wifi

This product is garbage! I tried connecting to wifi and it did not want to connect don’t waste your money!

A must have!!

We used the Owlet 2 for our daughter 6 years ago and didn’t know how we were going to live without it once she out grew it! She was born prematurely and this amazing device gave us immense peace of mind. We always practiced safe sleeping but looking over in the dark and seeing that soft pulsing green light made you know everything was ok. The sock was extremely helpful during colds since she always had severe upper respiratory infections that required nebulizer treatments. We could safely monitor her heart rate and oxygen levels. I’m writing this review because we almost did not purchase the outlet sleep sock for our son since we heard that there were changes made from the Owlet 2 and it didn’t function the same way in real time. I took a leap of faith and bought the product and I couldn’t be happier that I did! While changes were made, it still functions pretty much the same although the oxygen average is on a 10 minute delay, the heart rate is real time and it immediately lets you know if your baby needs assistance. We received a purple alert not a week ago when our babies heart rate climbed above the acceptable limits and were able to take him to the emergency room for treatment. We never would have known that there was an issue otherwise. RSV followed and we were able to keep a watchful eye, monitor his oxygen levels, and once again, know when we needed to take him for help in the middle of the night. This is worth every penny and more. Don’t hesitate for another minute, it will be the best thing you ever purchased for your child!

Won’t work on my home network

Product only works with 2.4GZ WiFi. It desperately needs to upgrade to current technology. This is embarrassingly outdated.

Terrible

I have been using this for a month now and there is constant connection issues. The base constant beeps at us saying connection was lost with the base system. We have tried reseting it all, moving the location of the base system, and even buying a wifi booster through our wifi company. It only works when she is in her bassinet directly next to the base system. The second we move her farther then a couple feet from the base system its constantly disconnecting and giving us issues. Nothing works. Unreliable

Connectability is awful

Recently bought this sock with high hopes and it won’t even connect to our WiFi. I referenced the instructions and our network settings multiple times but it would not work. Waste of money

Do not buy

The company did an update last night to the app and now you cannot see your child’s camera and dream sock readings on the same screen. It literally is pointless as a product after this update. Go with a different device. Don’t waste your money or time.

I really wanted to love the Owlet sock monitor, but it’s honestly been more frustrating than helpful. The biggest issue is constant false alerts for “sock displacement” even when my baby is completely still and sleeping. It goes off multiple times a night, which completely defeats the purpose of having something that’s supposed to give you peace of mind.
Instead of feeling reassured, I’m constantly second-guessing whether something is actually wrong or if it’s just another false alarm. It ends up waking both me and my baby up for no reason, which is incredibly stressful and exhausting.
On top of that, the app can be glitchy and slow to update, sometimes taking way too long to reconnect. The base station alarm is also very loud and jarring, which might be good in a real emergency—but not when it’s happening repeatedly for no real issue.
The sock itself can be tricky to position correctly, and it doesn’t always stay in place well, especially as babies get a little more wiggly. For something this expensive, I expected much better reliability and consistency.
Overall, this product caused more anxiety than it solved. Between the false alarms, connectivity issues, and fit problems, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are definitely better, less stressful options out there.
