It gives peace of mind when it works. Bluetooth connection is fairly weak, it will disconnect from the base unless the two are quite close. But when the connection does work it’s a great device to track how the baby is sleeping or how many times they wake in the night. Haven’t had it alarm me anything is wrong and I never want it to have to.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It definitely does its job, but there are a couple of things we think can be improved. The sock has notified us one too many times about connection and unable to read baby’s vitals. The camera/app has also lagged quite often and have to close app and reopen to see the live footage. It also doesn’t catch every cry/motion though we have the settings on more of the sensitive side. For the most part, it works

A sleep-deprivation machine. Not worth it!

We bought the Owlet thinking it would give us peace of mind, but it has been more annoying than helpful. The base station is only 3 meters away from where our baby sleeps, yet we get at least three disconnect alarms every single night. The worst part is that the baby is laying completely still in the exact same spot; it just randomly decides to drop the connection for no reason at all.
The disconnect alarm is incredibly loud and wakes up the entire house. Nighttime nappy changes are an absolute nightmare. If you take the baby to the changing station, it loses signal because it’s "too far" from the base. If you don't have your phone right next to you, you literally have to leave the baby on the changing station and run across the room to the base station just to shut it up. Even if you turn it off from your phone, it frequently disconnects again 10 seconds later.
Instead of helping us rest, this product constantly robs us of valuable sleep and creates unnecessary panic. It’s absolutely not worth the money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
