Poor App for what could be a great product

I bought this for peace of mind for my baby as a first time mom. However the app constantly glitches and makes me more worried constantly checking on my baby because the app is having issues. I’ve always updated if the app had an update available and nothing has helped.

Highly Recommend for cold and flu season

My 4 and a half month old currently has a cold and last night it alerted us at 1am that her oxygen was at 80%. We had just cleared her nose and gotten her to sleep a couple hours prior. We woke her and cleared her nose again but I can’t even think about what could’ve happened had it not alerted us. I highly recommend this to any parent!

Dream Sock Disaster

The Owlet Dream Sock is awful. It has alarms for when your kid is AWAKE. The last thing any parent of a newborn needs when their baby is up at 2 am is an alarm on the Owlet Base and every iPhone in the house letting everyone know what they already know: that the crying child is awake. There is NO option whatsoever (in the Owlet app or otherwise) to choose which alerts you receive or to adjust the sensitivity of the notifications. My wife and I will be returning this product.

A game changer

I used the owlet duo for my first son who is now 3, I didn’t get much use from the camera bc he slept in the room with me, i made the mistake of selling bc I wasn’t planning on having another baby. I had my second baby early so I hadn’t yet ordered a new owlet. The few days I spent waiting on our sock we’re restless for me! The owlet definitely helps me sleep easier and I love being able to see how well baby slept the previous night!

Missing the O2 sat

Overpriced sleep monitor essentially. If you’re looking just for heart rate and sleep quality than this is definitely for you. I owlet used to be known for pulse ox as well as heart rate monitoring to give parents that peace of mind. Unfortunately, given the FDA circumstances they had to revamp the app. Otherwise it works great as a sleep monitor and heart rate monitor but again a bit overpriced for that.

Don’t buy this

This sock is not good. I do not recommend. It’s currently 9PM and my baby was asleep and the base station decided to not connect with the sock anymore and ring waking my baby up. I am currently in hour in trying to probably solve why the sensor will no longer connect to the base. Do not buy this.

LOVE the product. Hate the base station lights.

As a highly anxious mom, this product brings so much peace of mind. When my son started rolling in his sleep, I was so worried about him sleeping on his stomach, but knowing that an alert would go off if he was in trouble gave me the ability to get a little sleep. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone looking for a little extra comfort while your child sleeps.
That said, the light on the base station bothers me to an absolute extreme amount. While the sock is charging, the light swirls. While the sock is on your child, the light is steady. If you have a child that is sensitive to light in their room, both the swirling light and the steady light are bright enough to bother your child. If you choose to keep the base station in a separate room to aoid the light, the connection might not be strong enough between station and sock, which can set off false alarms.
For people who choose to use this as a kind of night light or who have a set up where the light is helpful or doesn't bother their child, I'm sure the light is a positive. I do wish there was a way to disable the light for those of us who need to have the base station darken at least when the sock is being worn. That way, parents in both scenarios (who want the light and who don't) can be even more satisfied with this product.
By no means would I avoid this product due to the light, I just wish there were options and hope that future iterations of this wonderful product do include those options.

Self Help does not exist

Had the Dream Sock for a little over 2 months and every time there is an issue the first place i go is google. Owlet does not offer any type of user guides to troubleshoot anything. Great for peace of mind, but between the Ridiculous Unreliability of the app and the constant issues of the base station. Would not recommend.
