Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I am disappointed in both the stovetop and oven. Both the stovetop and the stainless steel are easily scratched. Setting the dials to obtain a low, even simmer-level heat is almost impossible. The front panel is susceptible to touch and must be locked when the oven is not in use as even wiping the top or leaning over it will start the stove. The convection fan will spontaneously turn itself on making an odd noise and the only way to stop it is to turn the appliance off at the circuit breaker box for upwards of a quarter of an hour. Electrical in the house is not the source of the problem as it was done during a recent kitchen renovation and passed city electrical inspection.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Solid, efficient and looks great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this oven after having many issues and multiple minor repair on our old one of another brand. We decided on this one that does not have all the “new, techy” features but all the components were high end and efficient for the same price. We decided to spend the money on quality rather than gimmicks. Very happy with our decision. This oven looks very sharp in the kitchen too.

Disappointed in Kitchenaid.

We are completely disappointed with our purchase of this range. The front stainless steel panel that the knobs sit on heats up when using the oven to a point where it becomes dangerous to our grandchildren. No doubt the electronics will fail in short order. The glass top surface is difficult to keep clean and easily scratched. With the control panel being in the same plane as the cooktop, it soon gets scratched from the pots and pans. We had purchased Kitchenaid appliances for the previous forty plus years and were very happy with them. But, never again. The quality and design just are not there anymore.

Great New Features and Great New Look

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this week this new model and after several times using it, it is more versatile than the previous model we had since 8 years. The 2 new elements that offer more watts than the previous model is a bonus and finally, there is more light in the oven so you can clearly see thru the oven window. In convection mode, the fan is very silent. For now, we are not regretting buying this new model over buying the previous generation that is phasing out. The only minus we have for now is that the element control buttons are now plastic, previously they were metallic.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We did want to clarify that the knobs continue to be made of metal (and not plastics) on these new models along with Precision Touch Controls.
We designed the knobs with a brushed stainless surface offset by a chrome finish and an easy-to-clean satin cross-hatch texture that wraps around the dial. This provides a stylish yet non-slip surface for a better grip.
We hope you enjoy many years of great cooking!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Always been a fan of KitchenAid and just moved to a condo and purchased all new appliances. A bit disappointed in range. Takes a lot of muscle to keep the stove top clean. Oven takes a very long time to reach desired temperature. Not happy at all with the steam clean feature. It does not do the job and I was not aware that there was not a proper self-clean feature (my fault I guess and the salesman did not make me aware of this). Otherwise oven seems hot and cooks well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stove is expensive but it functions as the high-end appliance you'd expect. The elements are very hot and heat very quickly - terrific for stirfries or boiling a huge pot of lobster water. Simmers are very low - terrific for roux. The oven keeps correct temperature & is unusually large - enough to hold 2 large casseroles side by side for those big dinner parties. Also the 3 racks have enough space between them for proper cooking on all 3 levels. However, on the negative side - the glass top is frustrating. It just can't be kept looking like new; I spend too much time cleaning it. After only 1 month there are lots of tiny scratches on the non-webbed element circles despite my being extremely careful. My previous KitchenAid stove's coran top looked brand new after 10 years. I don't know if this is a flaw in design or if it was something that needed to happen to permit the glass to heat this hot; if that is true I'd put up with the marked surface for the high functionality. If it weren't for this I'd rate it a 5 star with big smiles.
