Easy to use and picked up lots of dog hair. Also partially removed some old stains that were in the carpet. I actually was planning on replacing carpet but after cleaning it, I'm not sure that I need to do so. It improved the appearance that much!

Not enough time to answer the review! I had a previous Bissell cleaner and it did not last 2 years. A cord burned up on the inside and was told it was not covered by the warranty. Having tried other makes with huge disappointments and really liking my previous Bissell machine, I decided to suck it up and buy another Bissell. I have multiple pets and a house that always has teenagers hanging out, so it gets used. But, before I received my new machine a handyman severely damage our family room carpet (he did replace the room with new carpeting), so I have not had a chance to use the upright part of the machine. I did however use the lift off part and found it so much easier to clean my furniture (that took a beating from a large graduation party) then having to use the entire machine and was very happy. The reason I'm uncomfortable with a limited review time that Bissell gives to respond to a survey is it doesn't give you a chance to use the machine at least a couple of times to give a "TRUE" review. I always like to wait and really use a product before I comment, but I am recommending based on using the lift-off. I purchased directly from Bissell.
