We are using this to clean up mostly after our dog, who is getting older and has accidents. We also needed it for cleaning heavy traffic areas, 10' x 10' or so, plus two stairways. The full upright feature plus the smaller lift off have made these tasks much easier, and we are impressed with how clean, and relatively dry (still needs a couple of hours) our carpet turned out. The Bissell cleaning solution works better than I expected, having used other "professional" solutions. The upright portion is somewhat difficult to clean, requiring disassembly of several parts.

Holds too little volume

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not sure what happened in the world of steam cleaners since 2010... but in 2010 I bought a $150 steam cleaner that could hold around 2-3 gallons of water. This one can hold maybe half a gallon? On top of that, there is no separate container for the cleaning solution, you just mix it with the water. So if the rinse water has soap in it, how exactly is it rinsing the carpet? I have a small hallway in my house that I had to refill 4x because for every 4 carpet drags the water would run out... this is unacceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Alex. The formula is concentrated and doesn't require the carpet to be rinsed after cleaning. If you wish to do a water only cleaning, you can fill the clean water tank with just water, but it's not required. Hope this helps!

This is a great machine however,I recommend buying a warranty with the purchase. as the upholstery hose breaks which then makes this machine unusable!!! I am on my 3rd machine. They really need to attach a swivel head to the upholstery hose Or make the hose more flexible and not so stiff.

And I love that you can take the tanks off so easy and it is easy to clean I also love that you can lift off the upholstery cleaner off to clean the furniture or small messes your pets make.
