[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Happy with the cooktop so far. I will way its dimensions were not clear until reading the manual. We had to remove a substantial amount of granite to make room for it so beware.

So fast!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cooked on gas before, this is our first induction stovetop and we have no regrets. It's so fast in adjusting temperatures heating and cooling down. Much faster than gas that was already pretty fast.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided to replace our 25-year-old propane cooktop (it still worked but we wanted to reduce the fumes in our home from gas and reduce our dependency on petroleum products.) After reviewing Consumer Reports, we decided on the Induction Cooktop made by Bosch, the NIT8060. I was concerned that my wife might find it hard to adapt to a new way of cooking and that I might have to spend a small fortune buying new pans. I was wrong on both accounts. My wife adapted very fast and is happy for the change. We did need to replace four pans, but the cost was minor. The features and function of our new cooktop have exceeded our expectations. The cooktop is expensive yes, but, if we get anther 25 years of use as we did our gas cooktop the price is minor and the cooking is better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just Like Cookin' With Gas

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'd promised my wife that when the old cooktop needed replacement, we'd put in a gas cooktop (she hated radiant electric, and I was no fan either). The time came, but the cost of the minimal plumbing required (permits+parts+time) for a gas unit was OUCH; so, I started to look for alternatives.
Many reviews said that induction cooking was "as responsive" as gas, so I figured we'd give it a try. I chose the Bosch unit because of the high praise it received with Consumer Reports, and because even it's high unit cost was less than half what putting in a moderately priced gas unit was going to cost.
One month (including the holidays) in, and I can say it's been GREAT! I think it's actually faster than gas at boiling water, and it really is "instant off" when you shut down a "burner". I had no trouble cooking some rather finicky desserts.
I'm a fairly accomplished DIYer, and I had no trouble finding on-line information to confirm that the Bosch unit I chose would fit in my existing counter opening. I also found both the on-line installation info and the installation info shipped with the unit easy to follow.
I would recommend this to a friend!
