Induction Cooking - the way to go

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this cooktop to replace a 14 year old Kitchenaid induction cooktop. It was important to me to find a cooktop that was 30" wide and also had a "burner" which was at least 11". This Bosch fit the bill. I love how easy it is to use. It heats up fast to a boil, when needed and cools down well. It's easily cleaned too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fear turns to delight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading the manuel about all the do's and don'ts of my new new stove top, I was almost afraid to touch it. I had to re-invent my old habits and think lift don't slide, cold not hot, quick not long. With great trepidation I began cooking on it and have discovered that it is delightful and I'm enjoying all it's unique features. Like all new things, it just takes some mind adjusting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just installed our Bosch 500 Series. We like the look and feel of this cooktop. We are happy with the product overall. I only reason I am giving it a 4 stars instead of 5 is because it does not heat up as fast as my previous cooktop.

Not Sure About the Buttons

Not sure if anyone else has this issue but if my cat walks on the buttons he can accidentally turn on the cooktop.
Otherwise the induction is really great.

Broke in 6 months

Heard buzzing sound while being used. After cooking, the capital H stay lite and I a strong smell of burning electrical coming from the bottom of the unit
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Happy with induction

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] New condo only offered electric and I am a preferred gas cooktop girl. Chose induction hoping it would have the control of gas. I am pleased with my choice. Heats quickly, adjusts immediate and after cooled it cleans up very easily, much more than gas. Not sure I like the placement of the sizes as the large is toward to the back and longer reach to saute' than with my prior Thermador gas range. Chose Bosch as this was a 30 amp opposed to the Thermador requiring 40 amp.

Terrible. Designed for aesthetics, not use.

I've been living with this stove top for a few months now. I love to cook elaborate meals and use it several times a day.
It's functionality is absolutely awful. Like most anything made these days, they are entirely designed for asthetic, and not for functional reliable use.
Keep in mind as you read ahead what cooking is all about: Heat control
Lets start with the buttons:
The buttons are very slow and unresponsive. That alone renders this product as terrible. With a traditional stove top, setting a tempature, or turning of a burner is as simple as rotating a dial which takes fractions of a second. Instead we have buttons that control the "heat". On this stove top the "heat" cycle in increments of .5. To cycle from 0 to 10 takes exactly 10 seconds (I timed it). So imagine juggling multiple pans/pots where you need to attend the food. Instead of being able to flick a knob and turn of a burner in a matter of a second, you now have to hold a button for 7 seconds to turn your burner from 7 to off. You make think I'm being a nit, but I encourage you to think about this next time you are cooking your meal.
And WHY with the beeping. Why does everything these days need to beep so loud. You can turn it of when selecting heat ranges, but it's still there for everything else.

The Burners:
What was Bosch thinking when they placed the burners right up against oneanother? It's awful when you are trying to juggle multiple burners and the pots/pans are touching. There is no room for the handles, they have to point outwards to the sides.
And to put both of the large ones in the back? Majority of the cooking (unless you favor soup) is done in saute and frying pans which usually range at minumum in the 8"+ . The two front burners are BOTH 5.5" in diameter. Who on earth uses 5.5" diameter Anything? In addition, the burners emit a loud, pulsing, high frequency sound.

Icing on the cake is this stove top cost 2k!
See it in person BEFORE you buy. Try to imagine it with your cooking habits, your pots/pans, and in your kitchen!
I completely regret purchasing this product. I'm making plan to scrap it already and I'm looking forward to the day it's gone!
