We recommend resetting your washer by disconnecting power from the unit for 2 - 3 minutes and reconnecting power. If this reset does not revert the unit back to normal operating function, this will require service by a qualified technician. You can schedule an appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

Horrible appliance

Nothing about this washer that we like. The water level on normal does not even get your clothes wet
there is still detergent on your clothes. Even using the deep fill mode (doesn’t work on normal colors) it barely covers the clothes. Every time you start a new load you have to reenter the temperature and the spin so your clothes don’t come out sopping wet. There isn’t an alert to let you know the load is finished.

We would like to give you some information regarding your unit's water level and help you with the cleaning performance of your washer.

For cleaning performance, we recommend using liquid detergent and selecting a warmer water temperature. You can find additional information in the following article: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=000063110

Regarding the water level, the Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage, and the allowable amount has been reduced. As a high-efficiency unit, this washer is programmed with load sensing to adjust the water level based on the selected cycle and load size. As a result, the amount of water used will vary.

When it comes to the Deep Fill option, it is not available on the Normal and Colors cycles. You can find more information on pages 8 to 10 of the owner's manual: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--U0oV_xZc--/s08l4rmhqs9mf1ezhs7j.pdf

We want to assist with the sound level and your washer walking.

We recommend checking to ensure that your unit is completely level to the ground. This helps prevent excessive vibration and balancing issues. The leveling legs are located at the bottom of the unit and can be adjusted by rotating the leg. The sound you are noticing is likely being caused from out of balance conditions.

You will also want to check that all foam shipping material has been removed from the unit. You can checkout additional troubleshooting here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445

Better stand back during the spin cycle - WOW!
on August 27, 2025
Posted by: Plain Joe
Yikes!! I don't think I've ever experienced a washer that vibrates & shakes this bad during a spin cycle - ever.
All the comments in other reviews are real. Our washer shakes so bad even with only a bed mattress sheet and bed sheet (short of 1/3rd full), we literally need to wait on stand by in the room to stop the cycle to readjust the load every couple minutes or it sounds like it trying to destroy itself. We have to move it back into place 2-3 inches after use to avoid it damaging the brand new matching dryer purchased as a combo. I've even considered anchoring it to the wall so it doesn't dance across the room while tugging on water supply lines. This is just not right. Our 20 yr old GE Washer we replaced due to a bearing/motor leak could be filled to the brim and never shook like this.
20AU25 - We've contacted GE and a tech will be arriving next week. Will post the outcome as an update - hopefully this is serviceable and repairable otherwise it could end up at the curb.
Update as of 27AU25
The tech assessed the situation as a manufacturing defect that is serviceable - the drum is clearly not concentric with the main hub mount and wobbles at least 5/8" or more in any direction while nothing is loaded at all. This is a major issue / add any minute imbalance from a load to that and there's no way humanly possible to have a "balanced load".
He also mentioned a redesign and increased quality control on the newer mounting flange. This is the first anyone from GE has mentioned this in any review. And it would be nice to hear of that possibility (as full disclosure) rather than a generic bot-like response assuming the issue is user error. I will report out the outcome after new parts arrive and how that proves out. As a 40 year plus GE customer - I'd expect more for a response. For now,...will follow up when I know more.

We are sorry to hear of your experience with the vibration you are experiencing during the spin cycle. The loading of this washer has a direct effect on the vibration and "walking" you are experiencing. We advise loading dry items loosely in the washer basket. For best results, load items evenly and loosely around the outside of the basket, filling in towards the center on larger loads. We have also provided some additional loading instructions for this washer on 13 of the Owner's Manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--U0oV_xZc--/s08l4rmhqs9mf1ezhs7j.pdf

We have also provided some troubleshooting tips to prevent your washer from vibrating here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445

This machine is awesome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm liking this machine. My ge frontload needed an upgrade and this was my choice. The controls are easy to use and pretty much self explanatory. My clothes come out clean and fresh. The machine, aside what people are complaining about, is quiet. I am surprised because I was expecting it to be noisy. The water level is adequate for the size load it sensed. When I opened the app, it automatically new I had a new machine and asked if I wanted to add it to my account. So far, I'm happy with my purchase. I do recommend this model
