Nothing SMART about this washer

Unless the washer is jam-packed, the drum doesn’t balance itself out and you have to end up stopping the cycle so it doesn’t go through your wall. Small loads, or a small load with a heavier item (towel), aren’t an option with this machine. Extremely disappointed with my new washer and it’s “smart” technology.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE Profile Washer - terrible electronics

We purchased this GE Profile clothes washer-PTW705BSTWS and had it installed in 2/2023. The unit had the mother board replaced 5 weeks ago and then it went out again right before Thanksgiving. So we're currently waiting on having the 2nd mother board replaced and are going to a local laundry service. I would not recommend this appliance to anyone. I have always thought of GE as a quality appliance, but after this experience not anymore.

Would never purchase again

Washer is constantly unbalanced in the spin cycle and have to go and move the clothes around so that it will spin. Have numerous service people out and had switched out for another washer and still happens with almost every load.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needs better Auger system

Auger base and auger only last a couple of months. Very disappointing for GE’s usually high standards

ALWAYS off balance

At first I was happy with appearance and once i figures it out i thought it is easy to use and i was good but then i noticed it is out of place all the time and also the dryer so really started noticing it is rebalancing all the time because it is such a large drum the clothes no matter the load size is ALWAYS off balance when spinning
I did not purposely order a larger drum I told the appliance center I wanted this color and they did not have it in stock so they ordered it and brought it here without seeing it and I thought well thats fine i can wash blankets but nope its always a problem with the spin cycle I am very unhappy with this wash machine

We want to help out with the out-of-balance conditions you are noticing. The most important factor when it comes to the balance of the tub, is how your clothes are loaded. The best way to achieve a balanced load is to load dry items evenly and loosely around the outside of the basket, filling in towards the center on larger loads. It also can be important to check if the washer is completely level to the ground, as not being level can cause the same conditions.
