Cluttered design, poor final appearance.

If you are looking to for another great LEGO car to add to your collection of James Bond’s Astin Martin, or the the Camero, or the Mustang, THIS IS NOT YOUR CAR!
The back to the future kit was, for me, a disaster. Over a dozen missing parts sent me constantly into my personal 36000+ piece LEGO vault.
Poor design fit that was vIsible in the plans and uglyfied the fInal look.
Too much creative license was given, that the end product appeared to be an afterthought.

Frustrating build

I've never written a review but I was just disappointed with this build I felt I had to express my opinion. Many steps in this build were baffling and made the process difficult. For example, the entire rear chassis of the DeLorean is super detailed but the instruction have you build some of the exterior parts before the interior parts which creates a frustrating experience when you try to complete the whole rear. Further, the decal for the flux capacitor is on a separate sheet by itself then the other decals. So, of course, I couldn't find it for like 3 days. It slid inside the box and I located it but I do not understand why Lego didn't just put all 14 decals on one sheet. Why put 13 and then 1 separate? The positives are its super detailed and cool looking with the ability to conform the time machine to the movie of your choosing. I just don't understand the mechanics behind the directions. I wish that was more user friendly.

Look But Don't Touch

I gave it two stars for looks alone. It was one of the most frustrating sets I have ever built. At times, I felt like I needed E.T. fingers to put it together. The order of some of the steps did not make sense and I found myself reverse building it at times in order to make it easier for myself. The doors do not operate properly. You have to use something to push the seats towards the windshield in order to close the doors. A lot of the pieces are not attached very well. Overall, the set has very little strength. If your intention is simply to put it on display, you may not be disappointed; however, even with that, I suspect you may need a few cans of lacquer to keep it together because I fear a breath may be all it takes to wither this set back to its individual pieces. The designer needs a course in remedial brick building.

I been waiting to see when they were going to remaster this time machine for a few years now I am excited to be able to build it again. I was able to grab 3 sets one for myself , one for my friend and one for my in box Lego collection

Came missing some pieces (yes I checked the bags, checked everything just missing pieces). Had to replace with my own. A lot of pieces came dirty or covered in random substances? The rubber bands were not strong enough to make wheels flip correctly. I'm assuming this set is great. But what I got wasn't it. I've gotten lego a lot throughout the years but this was by far the worst.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Where we're going, we don't need road plates

I was excited for this set when I first started hearing rumors that became the classic pick-up truck (10290), and was not disappointed when the DeLorean was released. This is a fantastic display set with great BttF 2 minifigures. My only issue with the set is the display stand uses a 2x14 plate instead of a 2x16, so the figures are a little cramped.
I would recommend this to a friend!
